Rising Stars: Meet Tatiana Davis of MARIETTA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tatiana Davis.

Hi Tatiana, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hey….Tiana is my name and writing books is my thang! Lol. I’m from Chicago, I moved here to Georgia 8 years ago for a change of scenery and better opportunities. In the previous interview I did with you back in 2021 I was exploring life as an entrepreneur trying to get my cleaning business off the ground. Well life happened drastically. I ended a six year relationship, lost the car that I had as transportation to conduct business and and to renter into the 9-5 workforce again. During these past couple years I have been employed as a Driver Examiner with DDS, an Assistant Store Manager for Family Dollar for nearly two years and made a pit stop as an Assistant Store Manager at Murphy USA….The gas station. I’m currently a Disputes Resolution Coordinator for a collection firm and momager to my beautiful soon to be 22 year old model. Outside of that I am now a 2 time self-published author. I released my first book titled “Memoirs of An Ambitious Broke Chick” in February the the second book of that trilogy titled “Memoirs of An Ambitious Broke Chick: Still Climbing” before the year ended. It’s about my life. Chasing my dreams while being a single mom, working full-time and facing adversities. There’s also a romance manual, urban fiction trilogy and another women empowerment book in progress. I’m also preparing to take the real estate exam to obtain a license. It’s been quite the journey but I refuse to throw in the towel.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Depends on what you consider smooth honestly….gig. I mean….Life is like a roller coaster. There’s ups and downs. Some delightfully intimidating and others horrific. I’m sure we all have experienced both. After breaking things off with my ex was hard getting back on track. I had to let it burn though. We were growing apart. It became so tumultuous that he ended up pulling a gun on me in front of my daughter. By the grace of God he didn’t pull that trigger. If that’s what you mean by obstacles then there yo have it. From there it seemed like curve balls just kept coming my way. Eventually I surrendered to God. I stopped trying to do things my way and allowed him to lead the way. I prayed, fasted, waled for hours and just decided to change my mindset and the way I spoke. Outside of that I lost a childhood best friend and a sibling. They both were 40. Those two deaths ignited something in me. I’m still here for a reason and it’s not to live in fear or be average. I get more in depth about my journey to greatness in my books. They’re available on Amazon if you’re a bookworm. So yeah…I’ve been through some things chile…lol. I’m still striving to be the best version of myself everyday though.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As previously stated I’m currently in my author era and momager bag. My daughter has signed with a mother model agency in Atlanta. I’m working on helping her build her portfolio and acquire work to build her resume. She wants to act, dabbles in music and have an eye for fashion. I can’t wait til the day the world becomes aware of who she is. I’m so freaking proud of her. As far as my goals I plan to open an independent living home, a facility to assist homeless people with getting on their feet and an upscale sports bar like Joan Clayton from the sitcom “Girlfriends”…lol. I specialize in being myself. I love to sing, write, cook, watch reality tv and sports. I’m team all things Chicago! Oh…I am also a self proclaimed wine connoisseur who plans to produce her own wine. I’m most proud of my resilience. No matter what life throws at me I’m going to bounce back. What sets me apart from others? Hmmm…I can be braggadocious but I think those who had the opportunity to experience me can answer that question better.

What are your plans for the future?
Looks like I jumped ahead too soon huh? lol. I’ve already answered this question but one thing that I did leave out is that I also want to return to school. I want my Masters and an LPN. I have a big place in my heart for healthcare and you’re probably thinking why I’m not pursuing that. I have actually. I have an AA in Medical Assisting and a BA in Healthcare Management/Administration. I’ve worked as an CNA, HHA and MHA but relocated. Ended up in a totally different industry. School is expensive and if no one is going to provide some tuition reimbursement then I have to continue to explore other avenues that can generate revenue to foot the bill…lol. I feel like I can do it all so I’m going to as long as the man upstairs keeps blessing me to see the light of day.
