Community Highlights: Meet Dr. Ebunoluwa Mikie of Bridge Behavioral Health, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Ebunoluwa Mikie.

Hi Dr. Ebunoluwa, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hello, I’m Dr. Ebunoluwa Mikie,

My path into psychiatric and mental health care started in California, where I first stepped into healthcare as a Certified Nursing Assistant. I found so much fulfillment in caring for patients that after a few months, I decided to continue my education and became a Licensed Practical Nurse.

As I go through my clinical rotations, one field captivated me completely: psychiatric care. The energy, the human connection, and the meaningful, fast-paced days made me realize this was where I was meant to be. It wasn’t just a specialty—it felt like a calling.

Now, as a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Walden University, I bring over 25 years of healthcare experience to my practice, with the last six years dedicated to this field I love.

In my work, I strive to create a warm and collaborative space where patients feel truly seen and heard. I believe deeply that healing is possible, and I take the time to understand each person as a whole. Together, we create treatment plans that support not just symptom relief, but long-term emotional well-being and personal growth. Whether you’re going through a difficult time or simply need someone to talk to, I’m here to walk alongside you every step of the way.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Of course, starting my own practice came with its share of obstacles. Initially, there were plenty of naysayers and the realization that venturing out on my own meant navigating a lot of moving parts. It was certainly easier to work under someone else’s established system, where the security was more straightforward.

However, I often found that in other practices, changes weren’t always made with the patient’s best interests at heart. That realization drove me to push through the discomfort and all the complexities of running my own practice, so that any changes I implemented would truly benefit my patients.

At the end of the day, it’s not about money—it’s about people. People are unique and different, and my practice is built around embracing that uniqueness and helping them in every way I can.
