Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris And Danny Ellis.
Hi Chris and Danny, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
For years, the idea of a farm was just a quiet conversation between us. Eventually, we decided it was time to stop dreaming and start doing, so we bit the bullet and bought 10.5 beautiful acres in Rome, Georgia.
Now that we’re retired, that dream has become our daily life. Our days are filled with the company of four miniature Highland cows, two miniature donkeys, eleven chickens, and our two loyal dogs. We’ve turned our land into a thriving flower farm, complete with a self-serve market stand where we share our blooms and our home-grown, preserved harvests with the community. We love encouraging others to “take the leap,” because we truly believe in dying with memories, not dreams.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Becoming farmers was a “sink or swim” moment for us. With zero background in farming and no experience with livestock, we had to learn from the ground up. That meant asking a lot of questions and leaning on the kindness of others.
Now, when things go wrong, we don’t panic. We just say, “So what? What now?” and keep moving. We were “too old” and “too inexperienced” on paper, but we refused to let those labels stop us. We figured if others could build this life, why not us? And guess what? We’re proving every day that it’s never too late to start.

Our farm is a labor of love, specializing in vibrant, field-grown flowers and the mindful breeding of miniature Highland cows. Because we built this dream from the ground up, we are deeply committed to our community. We know exactly what it’s like to start from scratch, and we are always eager to share our experience and pull up a chair for anyone ready to learn
