Today we’d like to introduce you to Wanda Sanchez.
Hi Wanda , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My path to health coaching was paved by 30 years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Over three decades in the medical field, I witnessed firsthand the profound ‘damage’ that occurs when we neglect ourselves—not just physically, but emotionally. I saw how unresolved stress, suppressed emotions, and a lack of self-care eventually manifest as chronic medical conditions. This experience taught me that true wellness cannot be achieved through a prescription alone; it requires a holistic approach that honors the deep connection between our minds and our bodies.
I realized that many women spend their lives meeting the expectations of everyone else—their families, their jobs, and society—while leaving nothing for themselves. This often reaches a breaking point during perimenopause. At this stage, the combination of hormonal shifts, overwhelming fatigue, and a flood of emotions can feel like a crisis. However, I see this stage as a sacred opportunity. It is a time for women to finally become ‘honest’ with themselves—to stop changing for others and start making changes that benefit them first.
My mission is to help women navigate these obstacles by identifying their true ‘why’ and rebuilding themselves from a place of authenticity. By combining my clinical background with holistic tools like mindfulness, journaling, and nutrition, I empower women to stop sabotaging their goals and start living a meaningful life. When we finally choose to prioritize our own well-being, the transformation is drastic: we become more empowered, more authentic, and ultimately more fit to face whatever challenges life brings.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road is still unfolding, and in many ways, the shift is a journey I am still navigating. For the past ten years, I have worked as a Clinical Research Coordinator at Emory Healthcare, and I continue to serve in that role today. Balancing a demanding career in clinical research with the birth of a coaching practice has been one of my greatest challenges.
I cannot yet dedicate 100% of my time to coaching, as I am building this foundation for my next chapter after retirement. This requires an incredible amount of discipline and ‘heart-work.’ I have to plan my schedule with extreme care to ensure I am there for my clients and my own ongoing education, all while refusing to abandon my own self-care.
The struggle is real—it’s the ‘double life’ of being a dedicated medical professional by day and a holistic guide for women by night. However, this challenge actually makes me a better coach. I am practicing exactly what I teach my clients: how to find balance in a busy life, how to set boundaries, and how to prioritize your own wellness even when your schedule is full. I am walking the path right alongside them, proving that you don’t have to wait for the ‘perfect’ time to start choosing yourself.
As you know, we’re big fans of Wanda Sanchez E-P. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My practice, Wanda Sanchez-EP (Evolution Practiva), is the culmination of 30 years of nursing experience and a decade as a Clinical Research Coordinator at Emory Healthcare. I specialize in guiding women through the perimenopause transition—a stage of life where hormonal shifts, fatigue, and the weight of lifelong expectations often reach a breaking point. I see this not as a crisis, but as a sacred opportunity for a woman to stop changing for others and start building a life that benefits her.
What I do & My Specialization: I provide holistic health coaching that bridges the gap between clinical authority and emotional intelligence. I am known for my “EP” (Evolution Practiva) method, which focuses on the deep “heart-work” of mindfulness, journaling, and nutrition. I help women move past the superficial to address the root patterns of how they think and care for themselves.
What sets me apart from others: What distinguishes my brand is the clinical rigor I bring to the coaching space. Unlike many wellness programs, my process begins with a detailed “skeleton” intake. I review my clients’ current health status, medical conditions, and medications through the lens of a licensed nurse. I take the time to understand where they are physically before we ever begin the emotional work. I speak the language of the medical system, but I have the heart of a coach, allowing me to meet my clients exactly where they are.
What I am most proud of brand-wise: I am most proud of my commitment to authenticity. I teach women that it is okay to be “a little selfish” to survive and thrive. I am proud to be “walking the path” myself—managing a high-level career in research while building this practice—proving to my clients that it is never too late to begin a personal reconstruction.
What I want readers to know about my offerings: I offer one-on-one sessions, both virtually and in-person. My signature offering is a 3-month transformation package. I believe real change requires time to reveal, deconstruct, and rebuild old beliefs. We don’t just change a habit in a week; we spend ninety days constructing the version of yourself you want to become. For those who need ongoing support, I continue to work with clients on an as-needed basis after their initial program. My goal is to ensure every woman I work with feels comfortable in her own skin and empowered to face the future.
I want readers to know that Wanda Sanchez-EP is a bridge between two worlds—the clinical and the holistic, and the English and Spanish-speaking communities. My mission is to empower women of all backgrounds to navigate perimenopause with dignity, clinical support, and cultural honor.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My most cherished memories are a blend of the natural beauty of my hometown, Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, and an early, undeniable calling to heal. I remember the ‘priceless’ rhythm of those days—swimming in the coral reefs in the morning and watching the sun set over the west of the island in the evening. In those moments of solitude, I felt a profound union with the universe and a connection to a greater Spirit that I still carry with me today.
But even in that natural paradise, my soul was already preparing for my life’s work. I was the friend everyone turned to for comfort. I would spend hours playing with my dolls, pretending they were sick and nursing them back to health. I even remember being a patient in the hospital myself; after the nurses administered my IV, I would ask them for the leftover tubing and equipment (carefully removing anything sharp, of course!) so I could take it home and continue my ‘practice.’
It is incredible to look back and realize that before I even understood what the profession was, I was already a nurse in my heart. That childhood connection—the balance between the clinical curiosity of ‘treating’ my dolls and the spiritual holiness of the Puerto Rican coastline—is exactly what I bring to my clients today. I am not just treating a symptom; I am honoring that same spirit and ‘wholeness’ I discovered as a child by the sea.
