Today we’d like to introduce you to Stormy Curtis.
Hi Stormy, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I didn’t start in real estate because it looked glamorous. I started because I saw how often people felt unheard, confused, or taken advantage of in one of the biggest decisions of their lives. I built my career by doing what most don’t: showing up when it’s hard, telling the truth when it’s uncomfortable, and standing beside my clients long after the paperwork is signed. That heart became Buy Georgia Realty, and today we serve buyers and sellers who want more than a transaction.. they want protection, clarity, and someone who actually knows how to move a market. What sets my brokerage apart is that we don’t just list homes – we market them. I come from a background in advertising, business consulting, event planning, and community publishing, and I own platforms that no other agent has access to, reaching tens of thousands of local families daily. That means when my agents list a home, it doesn’t just go on MLS, it goes in front of real people in real communities who are already engaged and paying attention. For sellers, that means stronger exposure and smarter strategy. For buyers, it means access, education, and advocacy that doesn’t stop at the showing door. I also built Buy Georgia Realty as a women-only brokerage because I believe women thrive when they are supported, not judged; when standards are high, expectations are clear, and growth is encouraged without competition tearing each other down. Our agents get big-brokerage tools with boutique-level heart, including affordable professional marketing through our partner Back Porch Media, so they can serve clients well without carrying unnecessary financial pressure. I’m not just a broker.. I’m a strategist, a marketer, a community builder, and an advocate for people navigating change. I didn’t take the easy road to get here, but I took the honest one, and that’s exactly why clients and agents choose us over everyone else.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, and I don’t think the real stories ever are. I entered real estate just before COVID, and since then the industry has been in constant change: shutdowns, record-high demand, rising rates, shifting inventory, and now major legal and structural changes that reshaped how we do business. I opened my brokerage in 2024 right as the lawsuits and August policy changes hit. A time when many agents chose to quit, retire, or step back because the uncertainty felt overwhelming. Building during that season meant choosing courage over comfort every single day. One of the biggest struggles people don’t see is that real estate professionals sacrifice constantly. This isn’t a nine-to-five job. It’s seven days a week, often twelve to eighteen hours a day, including holidays, weekends, and the moments that should belong to family. Vacations get interrupted. Being sick doesn’t stop the phone from ringing. Even in the middle of life’s hardest seasons, deaths, surgeries, personal crises, the calls still come, because people’s lives and livelihoods don’t pause. We’re not robots. We carry our clients’ stress, timelines, fears, and financial pressure, all while fronting thousands of dollars in marketing, photography, gas, education, systems, and support staff. And unless a deal closes, we don’t get paid. There’s no hourly wage, no guaranteed salary.. just faith, grit, and the responsibility to show up fully, because if we don’t, someone loses, and that’s simply not an option.
Those challenges shaped me and my brokerage. They taught me resilience, honesty, and the importance of building something real, not flashy, not inflated, but grounded in purpose, accountability, and heart. The road hasn’t been easy, but it’s been meaningful. And honestly, I wouldn’t trade that journey for anything, because it’s exactly what allows me to lead with empathy, strength, and truth.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At the heart of Buy Georgia Realty is one simple belief: people deserve more than a transaction. They deserve protection, education, and a team that genuinely cares about the outcome of their story. As a women only brokerage serving buyers, sellers, investors, and families across Northwest Georgia and the Metro Atlanta corridor, we were built with intention. Not just to close deals, but to guide people through life transitions such as first time buyers stepping into independence, families relocating for new beginnings, sellers closing chapters, investors building legacies, and business owners making strategic moves. What defines our brokerage is the way our agents work together, combining real estate expertise with marketing strategy, business consulting, and deep community connection so our clients feel supported from every angle.
What truly sets Buy Georgia Realty apart is that we do not just list homes. We market them with purpose. Our brokerage is backed by a strong foundation in advertising, branding, event planning, and community publishing. Through platforms we own and operate across Metro Atlanta’s Northwest corridor, our listings reach tens of thousands of local residents daily. That means when our agents represent a property, it does not get lost in the MLS. It gets real visibility with real buyers who already live, work, and invest in our communities. Our agents benefit from exposure that no other brokerage can offer, and our sellers benefit from marketing that actually moves people to action.
We also believe that who you work with matters just as much as who represents you. That is why our brokerage has carefully built relationships with trusted vendors from lenders and inspectors to photographers, contractors, attorneys, and media partners like Back Porch Media. These are not random referrals. They are professionals we trust with our own clients because they share our standards, values, and commitment to excellence. Together, our agents and vendor partners form a true support system around every client we serve.
Community is not just something we talk about. It is something we show up for. That is why Buy Georgia Realty is proud to be part of The Dallas Markets in downtown Dallas. There, we have created a small but meaningful space that reflects who we are. Angel wings with texture designed to bring smiles and photo moments to families and a collection of affordable, fun home items that add joy to everyday life. Our setup may be simple, but our heart behind it is big. We love the vendors at The Dallas Markets and are passionate about supporting fellow small businesses, creators, and entrepreneurs who pour everything they have into serving our community.
Buy Georgia Realty created a women only brokerage to give women a place to grow without judgment, compete without comparison, and lead without pressure to become someone they are not. We operate with high standards, clear accountability, and genuine support. Not ego or drama. Our agents receive the tools of a big brokerage with the heart of a boutique, including affordable professional marketing, hands on leadership, and real collaboration that helps them serve clients better, not just sell faster.
Brand wise, what we are most proud of is our reputation for honesty and integrity. We do not sugarcoat. We do not overpromise. And we do not disappear when things get hard. Real estate is demanding. Seven days a week, long hours, holidays, sickness, personal loss. And our agents still show up because people trust us with some of the most important moments of their lives. That responsibility is something we carry seriously, every single day.
What we want people to know about our brokerage is this.
We are built on service, not sales.
We are built on truth, not hype.
We are built on community, not competition.
Whether you are buying your first home, selling your last, relocating your family, building a portfolio, or growing a business, Buy Georgia Realty exists to make sure you feel educated, protected, and confident. Not pressured, rushed, or overlooked.
We did not build this brokerage to be the biggest.
We built it to be the most trusted.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I love most about the Metro Atlanta Northwest corridor and Atlanta overall is the opportunity. You can live in a community that still feels personal and grounded, yet be minutes away from one of the most dynamic cities in the country. Atlanta brings business, art, culture, music, film, and entrepreneurship together in a way that few cities can. It creates jobs, fuels innovation, and gives people from every background a place to belong. The diversity here isn’t just something you see, it’s something you feel in the food, the schools, the neighborhoods, and the way people connect. That combination of hometown heart with big-city possibility is what makes this area truly special.
What I like least is that growth sometimes moves faster than infrastructure and intention. Traffic, overcrowding, and rising costs can make daily life harder, especially for families and small business owners who helped build these communities in the first place. And as Atlanta continues to expand, we have to be careful not to lose the character, history, and affordability that made people fall in love with this area to begin with. Progress is powerful, but it works best when it’s paired with thoughtful planning and a commitment to protect the people who already call this place home.
