Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcus Braxton.
Hi Marcus, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Saavy Dults is a streetwear brand rooted in creativity, resilience, and purpose, founded by me, Marcus Braxton. The brand was born during one of the most difficult seasons of my life. After losing my father, I reached a point where I realized tomorrow isn’t promised. That loss forced me to look inward and ask myself if I was truly living in my purpose. I had always been creative and had an eye for design and expression, but fear and comfort kept me from taking the leap.
My son, who is autistic, also played a major role in shaping my mindset. Watching the way he sees the world through color, imagination, and freedom reminded me that creativity has no limits. That’s where the name Saavy took on meaning for me. It represents a different way of being exceptional. Not boxed in. Not ordinary.
I started Saavy Dults with the idea that fashion should be more than clothing. It should be energy, identity, and confidence. Every piece is designed to make people feel seen and empowered. Elevate Your Fashion IQ is not just a slogan. It is a mindset. It is about growth, originality, and stepping into who you really are.
I am back and forth between Miami and Atlanta, building in both cities and learning the culture of each. Atlanta represents growth for me. It is where I am pushing myself to evolve and become a true fashion savant, not just a designer but a creative force in the culture.
I began small, funding everything myself and learning as I went. Designing, sourcing materials, building a website, hosting pop ups, and connecting directly with people. Every setback taught me something. Every win reminded me why I started. Today, Saavy Dults is more than a brand. It is a lifestyle, a community, and a reflection of resilience, creativity, and faith.
What started as a personal leap of faith has grown into a brand built to inspire others to be bold, creative, and unapologetically themselves. I am still building, still learning, and still dreaming, but now I am walking in purpose. Saavy Dults is proof that pain can become power, and that it is never too late to bet on yourself.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been believing in myself enough to keep going when there was no guarantee it would work. I funded everything on my own, so every design, sample, and pop up came with real financial risk. There were moments when I questioned if I was doing too much or chasing something unrealistic while still balancing life, work, and being a father.
Another challenge has been learning every side of the business from scratch. Manufacturing, quality control, branding, marketing, pricing, and logistics were all new to me. I made mistakes, trusted the wrong people at times, and had to learn the hard way. There were delays, setbacks, and moments where things did not turn out the way I envisioned.
Emotionally, building this brand while still healing from loss was heavy. Grief does not disappear just because you have a dream. Some days it was hard to show up creatively while carrying that weight. But those same struggles became fuel. They taught me patience, discipline, and faith.
Every obstacle strengthened my vision. Instead of stopping me, they sharpened me. Each challenge reminded me why I started and who I am building this for. I learned that growth is uncomfortable, but it is necessary. Saavy Dults exists because I chose to keep going even when it was hard.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Saavy Dults?
About the Business:
Saavy Dults is a streetwear lifestyle brand built on creativity, individuality, and purpose. The brand blends bold color stories, premium materials, and artistic storytelling to create pieces that feel like wearable statements. Every design is intentional. From heavyweight tees and hoodies to custom hats, shorts, and accessories, Saavy Dults is designed to stand out while still being wearable in everyday life.
What sets Saavy Dults apart is the meaning behind it. The brand is inspired by a different way of thinking. “Saavy” represents being exceptional in your own way, not boxed in by norms or expectations. Each piece carries energy, emotion, and identity. We are known for vibrant palettes, unique graphics, rhinestones, textures, and elevated street silhouettes that feel more like art than apparel.
I specialize in creating limited, expressive pieces that make people feel seen and confident. Saavy Dults is not about mass production. It is about impact. Each drop is curated, and each item tells a story. I am most proud of building something from the ground up that connects with people emotionally. Customers do not just buy clothing, they buy into a mindset.
What I want readers to know is that Saavy Dults is more than fashion. It is a movement rooted in growth, originality, and self belief. “Elevate Your Fashion IQ” is not just a slogan, it is an invitation to think differently, express boldly, and step fully into who you are.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I see the fashion and streetwear industry moving toward deeper meaning and authenticity. People are becoming more intentional about what they wear and who they support. Over the next five to ten years, I believe we will see a shift away from fast fashion and toward brands that stand for something real. Consumers want story, purpose, and connection, not just logos.
There will also be a bigger focus on individuality. Trends will still exist, but people will care more about expressing who they are instead of blending in. Streetwear will continue to blur the lines between art, culture, and fashion. Pieces will feel more like collectibles than disposable clothing.
Technology will play a larger role as well, from how brands are built to how they connect with their communities. Direct to consumer models, limited drops, and experiential pop ups will become even more important. Brands that build relationships, not just products, will last.
The future belongs to creators who are fearless about being different. I believe the industry is opening space for brands like Saavy Dults that are rooted in originality, emotion, and purpose. The next era of fashion will be less about hype and more about impact.
