We’re looking forward to introducing you to Jessica Fields. Check out our conversation below.
Jessica, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
Would I hire Harbor 26 Studio? (my digital marketing and creative agency)
Short answer: Hell yes.
Long answer: I built Harbor 26 Studio because I saw a gap in the market- too many agencies and social media managers rely on rinse-and-repeat strategies and cookie-cutter graphics. Everyone claims to be an expert, and too often, some do just enough to get by. That frustrates me, because it undermines the work of those who actually care.
From the start, I knew I wanted to do it differently: leave every client better off than when they started working with us. I designed our agency from the inside out, creating systems that make the client experience seamless, automations that keep everything organized, and a fully custom approach for each brand. That’s why we develop tailored social media strategies, avoid Canva templates, and only offer full-service digital marketing.
Because if we’re going to do it, we’re going to do it right. Not nickel and dime you. Not half-measures. Our clients know the results they want, and we know exactly how to get them. If I wanted to lead in my industry and have peace of mind that someone cares about my brand as much as I do, I’d hire Harbor 26 Studio.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Jess, founder of Harbor 26 Studio, a full-service digital marketing and creative agency. I started the agency because I wanted to help businesses show up online with intention, clarity, and impact. Everything we do is backed with strategy and creative direction.
We focus on building a marketing ecosystem that actually works together. Social drives visibility, email builds trust, and paid ads amplify what’s already working. When these channels are managed separately (multiple contractors or an unaligned team), opportunities get lost. We don’t just manage it; we bring it to life with full-service content production, handling every part of your marketing so you can focus on running your business.
We keep everything anchored in one clear strategy so your brand shows up consistently, communicates with intention, and converts more effectively. The result? Less coordination for you, smarter execution, and measurable growth for your business.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
I’m an ex-corporate marketing project manager. Working at both global companies and start-ups, I had to collaborate closely with executives and leadership teams. One thing quickly became clear: no one has all the answers, and most of us are just figuring it out as we go.
That realization was both humbling and freeing as it taught me that it’s okay to not have every decision mapped out perfectly, that curiosity and adaptability are more valuable than certainty, and that leadership isn’t about having all the answers, but about asking the right questions and empowering the people around you. It shaped how I approach everything now in business, in creativity, and in life with a mindset of experimentation, learning, and trust in the process.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
“Start sooner. You’ve got this.”
For a long time, a part of me believed I needed to “earn” my spot in the business owner world through corporate experience, climbing the ladder, and checking every box before I could launch something of my own. And maybe if I hadn’t taken that path, my business would look different today. But here’s the thing: I’d bet on myself every single time. I’d tell my younger self that experience is valuable, yes, but so is trusting your instincts, taking the leap, and starting before everything feels perfect. The sooner you start, the sooner you realize you’re capable of more than you ever imagined.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes. I’ve always valued honesty and transparency over smoke and mirrors. Showing up authentically builds trust, strengthens relationships, and lets people know exactly what to expect.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
I don’t think I’m capable of doing anything less than my best, no matter the circumstances. Starting a business taught me a lot about this. You often hear the phrase “it’s lonely at the top,” but what that really translates to is having to show up fully, even when no one’s watching or applauding. You’re accountable only to yourself, and the results matter more than the recognition. Over time, I realized that giving my all with consistently, quietly, and with intention is how you create work, relationships, and a business you can truly be proud of.
