Meet Jodessiah Sumpter of Tech Levitate

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jodessiah Sumpter.

Hi Jodessiah , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My path into technology wasn’t a straight line—it was driven by curiosity and a desire to build things that actually help people. I started out as a hands-on technologist, working in software and digital platforms, but very quickly found myself being asked to lead, translate, and connect the dots between vision and execution.

As my career progressed, I worked across startups, media, churches, and enterprise teams, often stepping into moments where organizations had strong missions but outdated systems or unclear technical direction. I became the person who could both understand the why and design the how.

That experience led me to start Tech Levitate. I didn’t set out to build a traditional agency—I wanted to create a place where innovation, creativity, and practical execution could live together. Tech Levitate grew out of helping founders and organizations adopt emerging technology—AI, software platforms, gaming, and automation—in ways that were aligned with their values and scalable for the future.

Along the way, Tech Levitate became a launchpad for other ventures in gaming and AI content platforms, and my role evolved into serving as a fractional CTO, advisor, and innovation partner. I’ve learned that the real work isn’t just about technology—it’s about clarity, trust, and building systems that empower people.

Today, Tech Levitate reflects that journey. It’s a platform for helping organizations move forward with confidence, using modern technology as a tool for growth, creativity, and impact—without losing sight of the human side of innovation

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all. The road has been full of pivots, pressure, and learning the hard way.

One of the biggest struggles was realizing that being good at building things isn’t the same as being good at scaling them. Early on, I took on too much myself—engineering, strategy, sales—thinking hustle alone would carry things forward. It worked for a while, but it wasn’t sustainable.

Another challenge was timing. I was often early—exploring AI, gaming, and emerging platforms before the market or clients fully understood the value. That meant long stretches of educating, experimenting, and sometimes funding ideas longer than I wanted to.

There were also seasons of uncertainty—balancing family responsibilities, financial pressure, and multiple ventures at once. I had to learn how to prioritize focus, say no to good opportunities, and build systems instead of relying on willpower.

What those struggles taught me was humility and clarity. They forced me to slow down, sharpen my thinking, lean on my faith and build Tech Levitate around alignment rather than just ambition. Today, I’m much more intentional about where I invest my energy, who I partner with, and what problems are truly worth solving.

Looking back, the hard parts weren’t setbacks—they were part of the journey to becoming a better businessman..

As you know, we’re big fans of Tech Levitate. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Tech Levitate is a gaming and innovation studio focused on elevating business solutions through emerging technology.

We design and build at the intersection of gaming, AI, interactive media, and software platforms—helping organizations use emerging tech not as a novelty, but as a competitive advantage. Our work ranges from game-driven experiences and interactive products to AI-powered tools, automation, and digital platforms that support real business outcomes.

What we’re known for is blending a game studio mindset with enterprise-level strategy. We think in systems, engagement loops, and user experience first—then apply that thinking to businesses, creators, and institutions that want to move faster, connect deeper with their audiences, or reimagine how their products and services work.

What sets Tech Levitate apart is that we don’t just build technology—we design experiences. Our background in gaming allows us to approach business challenges with creativity, play, and behavioral insight, while still delivering scalable, production-ready solutions. That combination of innovation and execution is rare.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud that Tech Levitate stands for clarity, integrity, and forward momentum. We’re intentional about who we partner with and how we build. Much of our work comes through trust and long-term relationships, not volume or hype.

We’re especially proud to serve startups, churches, and nonprofit organizations—groups that are often vision-rich but resource-constrained. Helping them bring bold ideas to life through gaming and emerging technology is central to our mission. Whether it’s launching a new platform, reimagining engagement, or modernizing systems, we see our role as turning vision into something tangible, scalable, and impactful.

What I want readers to know is that Tech Levitate exists to help organizations think differently about what’s possible. We believe emerging technology should be engaging, human-centered, and purpose-driven—and when used thoughtfully, it has the power to elevate not just businesses, but the people they serve.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something that often surprises people is that my foundation is artistic. Growing up in Brooklyn, I was surrounded by creativity, architecture, and culture, and for a long time I wanted to be an architect. I spent years drawing and thinking visually, learning how structure and creativity work together. That background still shapes how I approach technology today. I don’t just think in terms of code or systems—I think in experiences, flow, and how people move through what we build. That blend of artist and technologist is rare, and it’s become one of my biggest advantages in gaming and innovation work.
