Hi Christina, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Christina Cocita. I’m a wife and a mother of four boys, and I started Globody in September of 2020—right in the middle of COVID. At the time, I was running a gym with a predominantly female client base and began thinking about ways to supplement my income. That’s when the idea hit me: What if I offered spray tans?
It started simply. Women would come in to work out, shower, get a spray tan, and leave glowing—inside and out. They loved the convenience, and I loved seeing how confident and happy it made them feel. What began as a small side idea quickly turned into something much bigger than I ever imagined.
Today, Globody has served over 1,000 incredible clients, many of whom have been with me since 2020. We’ve truly done life together. They know my family, I know theirs, and this business has given me the opportunity to connect with so many amazing women on a deeper level. It’s about more than just a tan—it’s about confidence, community, and connection.
I’ve poured my heart into building Globody from the ground up. It hasn’t always been convenient, and there have been sacrifices along the way—missed football practices and early exits from games—but I wouldn’t change it for anything. This business has been built with intention, grit, and love, and I’m incredibly proud of how far it’s come. I’m excited to continue growing Globody and welcoming new clients into a space where they feel confident, cared for, and truly seen.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. I’m the first entrepreneur in my family, so I didn’t have a roadmap or built-in guidance when it came to starting, operating, and owning a business. Many of the lessons I’ve learned came through real-time experience—trial, error, and figuring things out as I went.
Spray tanning is often a last-minute decision for clients, sometimes booked just a day—or even hours—before they need it. That reality has kept me constantly on my toes, especially while juggling a growing business and life as a mom to four boys. Flexibility, quick decision-making, and adaptability quickly became non-negotiables.
Through it all, I’ve been incredibly blessed with support. My husband has been Globody’s biggest fan from day one, stepping in whenever needed and believing in the vision even when things felt overwhelming. I’m also surrounded by a phenomenal group of mentors and strong, driven women who challenge me, encourage me, and push me to grow—not just as a business owner, but as a person. Their support has made all the difference and reminded me that while entrepreneurship can feel lonely at times, it doesn’t have to be walked alone.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Don’t be afraid to just start. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you take the first step. Put one foot in front of the other and start walking. Clarity comes through action, not perfection.
For me, mentorship and networking happened naturally once I began moving. I asked questions, stayed curious, and wasn’t afraid to admit what I didn’t know. I leaned into rooms that challenged me, surrounded myself with women who were doing the work, and paid attention to how they operated—how they thought, how they led, and how they handled both success and setbacks.
Believing you can do it is just as important as having the right people around you. When you’re rooted in your “why,” it becomes easier to stay consistent, show up even when it’s uncomfortable, and keep going when things feel hard. The right mentors often show up when you’re already in motion—when they can see your work ethic, your heart, and your commitment.
My biggest advice is this: start before you feel ready, stay open to learning, and build genuine relationships instead of transactional ones. Growth happens when you’re willing to be seen trying.
