Exploring Life & Business with Ratesia Harden of Country Financial, Ritta Harden Agency

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ratesia Harden.

Ratesia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m actually what you’d call a SERIAL-preneur lol but let’s start with my insurance career. I started insurance in 2014. After obtaining my personal lines, I quickly realized that this was a great way to become financially stable while having a work schedule that benefited my children. I pushed through many obstacles along the way but it wasn’t until the passing of my mother, Marjorie Harris, that I knew I had to live out my purpose. Before my mother’s passing, I was an agent with State Farm. I would get reports showing what I brought into the business vs the entire team’s contribution. Time after time, I was consistent with doubling what the team brought in and my mom always pointed out my potential for greatness. Her words were deep, “if you can do this for the company, you can do this for yourself”. In Oct 2021, 9 months after my mother’s passing to Covid, I opened the doors to my own independent insurance agency, HC Legacy Insurance. I operated this business solely while branching off to revamp my family catering business “Cool CAPS” and opening our venue space, Legacy Lounge. Everything was going well business wise and God blessed me with another beautiful baby in 2022 as my marriage came to a close 4 months after her arrival. I had to shut down my businesses as I maneuvered through the loss of my mother, my divorce, and being a new mother after 14yrs. I decided to get back into action the beginning of 2024. In August 2024, I was privileged to open my new agency, Country Financial- Ritta Harden Agency. Although this time around, I’m captive I still have the ability to write insurance wi the my brokered companies. I obtained my Life Coaxhing certification in 2023. I silently coached new coming business owners and clients who needed an extra push past chaotic chapters in their lives so they could reach their full potential in accomplishing their goals. I continued my education in life coaching to expand my specializations in business coaching, relationship coaching with a subspecialty in domestic violence, and spiritual coaching. Here it is, 2026 and my businesses are growing, I’m expanding all while enjoying my life as a mother to now 5 children! My oldest daughter is well known social media influencer and journalist, RyRy B. My son who will be 21 on Jan 28th is a licensed real estate agent with 3 rental properties, my 19yr old daughter is an animal science major at the FVSU, the high schooler graduates in May and plans to go to the airforce right after, and my start over kid will be in Pre-K this year lol

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been the smoothest. With heartbreaking losses from 2016-2022, a divorce, start over mom, and just personal shifts throughout the times, things were hard. Legal proceedings are financially draining when people are not on the same page and a lot of my money for marketing and staff were used in other aspects than what they were set aside for. A lot of things were mentally draining so I dropped the ball a few times but I can honestly say that I feel a renewed spirit starting the year so I’m eager to see how my prayers and hard work unfold for me

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My insurance agency writes insurance policies for almost every walk of life. We write auto and home policies, policies for boats, motorcycles, RVs, etc, business policies, policies for your fur babies, life insurance policies, and health policies.
As the owner of Cool CAPS and Legacy Lounge, we offer intimate gatherings with a broad selection of upscale gourmet dining to basic finger foods for any events. We also allow sole renting of the event space for private birthday parties, anniversaries, and much more without our catering services.

How do you think about luck?
I don’t believe in luck. I believe in hard work, prayer, and faith. I decide to walk by faith daily.
