Life & Work with Jeanne Rollins of Douglasville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeanne Rollins.

Jeanne, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always the the magic of the holiday season and began my journey working in a Christmas decor wholesale showroom at the Atlanta Market Center. When my son John was born in 2005, I wanted to be home more and was inspired to start my own business decorating homes for the holidays- mixing passion with practicality as a mother of 2 young boys.

Over the years, I started to receive requests from commercial areas like the Town Center at Cobb, the Avenue West Cobb, and local governments like the City of Dallas and the City of Chamblee, for decorating services. I then started to decorate for hotels like the Omni Battery, the Omni Centennial Park, the American Hotel, and Springhill Suites.

At this point, I no longer had time during the busy holiday season to decorate homes, but I still wanted to provide beautiful, over-the-top decor options to private homes. This lead me to open a holiday retail store in Marietta at the Avenue West Cobb. The store was more of a 5,000-square-foot showroom with different rooms and spaces that featured various displays with unique and upscale designs.

The store was well-loved by both myself and the community, but just one after it opened in 2021, I was contacted by a production company to decorate a holiday party scene for the Netflix show, Cobra Kai. That single project snowballed into a whirlwind two-year period where we provided rentals and decor for over 20 major productions, including the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, Red One, and Lego Masters. Our retail store even served as a filming location for the movie Festival of Trees.

Between the productions and the commercial installation schedule, plus the addition of commercial lighting services, I sadly had to close down the store in 2024. Since then, I moved to a new warehouse in Douglasville and have taken on new large clients in the Atlanta region, even completing over 50 holiday installations this past year.

As we take a moment to rest after a busy 2025, we are already preparing to transform the city for Valentine’s Day and Easter. Looking ahead to 2026, I am excited to continue spreading holiday cheer—from the Fourth of July to Hanukkah—throughout the entire greater Atlanta area.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It certainly hasn’t always been a smooth road, but working alongside my dream team, I can honestly say I feel incredibly fortunate. One of the greatest obstacles I faced was the transition from residential to commercial installations. The jump in scale required a total shift in mindset and approach. Moving from 16-foot residential trees to 32-foot commercial towers meant adapting to larger tools and a much bigger team, all while not losing sight of the finer details. In my experience, those small touches are exactly what bring a display to life, and it’s that commitment to a high-end visual standard that helps us truly stand out in the industry.

The growth we’ve experienced over these last few years has been nothing short of amazing for me. Every project has gifted us with deeper knowledge, stronger industry contacts, and an expanding team that makes the entire process a joy to be a part of. We’ve learned how to scale our operations without sacrificing the artistry that started it all. Looking back at how far we’ve come, I am so proud of the expertise we now bring to every installation, ensuring that each display we create is as seamless as it is spectacular.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in creating over-the-top, unique, and upscale holiday displays designed to do more than just fill a space. I want every display we create to enhance photo ops and create lasting memories for families and friends. We strive to create the total package by taking a vision from concept to reality. Our trees are far from the run-of-the-mill designs- we use only very high-end products to ensure every element feels premium. I am most proud of our ability to produce displays that elicit an audible “WOW” from everyone who sees them. My team and I refuse to compromise on quality or scale. Even though we’ve grown to handle massive commercial installations and major film productions, we still strive to maintain the same boutique attention to detail that I started with years ago.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I see the industry continuing to expand as the demand for “bigger and better” only grows. Having been in this business since before social media became the powerhouse it is today, I’ve had a front-row seat to how drastically expectations have shifted. Over the next five to ten years, I expect the trend toward massive, immersive, and high-quality display like towering trees, lush garlands, and intricate bows—to accelerate. Clients are no longer just looking for decor; they are looking for a competitive edge that draws people in and creates a viral moment.

As I visit wholesale design markets, it’s clear that the merchandise is becoming increasingly sophisticated and over-the-top to meet this demand. The future of our industry lies in creating “destination displays”—the kind of unique, high-end installations that serve as the perfect backdrop for social media reels and family Christmas cards alike. In the coming decade, I believe we’ll see even more integration of technology and custom artistry, as businesses and local governments realize that a stunning holiday display is one of the most effective ways to attract visitors and build community connection.
