Inspiring Conversations with Ashley Sasher of Bloomin’ Blinds of Cumming & Johns Creek

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Sasher.

Hi Ashley , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My path has been anything but linear, but every chapter has prepared me for where I am today. I began my career with a deep interest in building brands, driving growth, and understanding what truly motivates people. Over the last 22+ years, I’ve built a career in B2B and B2C marketing leadership, working across national restaurant brands, retail fintech, and EdTech SaaS organizations. I’ve had the opportunity to scale businesses, lead teams through acquisitions, and build integrated, data-driven marketing engines that fueled consistent revenue growth.

While I was grateful for the corporate experience and what it taught me, there came a point where I wanted more ownership over my work and my time—and more alignment between my professional goals and my personal values. My husband, Keith, and I had long talked about building something together that would allow us to work side by side, serve our local community, and create a legacy for our family.

In August 2025, we took that leap of faith and became the Bloomin’ Blinds territory owners for North Atlanta. What drew us in was the brand’s family-owned foundation, its emphasis on hands-on service, and a business model designed for both growth and sustainability. It felt like the natural next step—combining my background in strategy, marketing, and partnerships with Keith’s 23 years of sales experience to build something of our own.

Today, we’re focused on growing a business rooted in trust, relationships, and community impact while raising our three children and staying deeply connected to the place we call home. The journey has been about evolution—moving from building brands for others to building something meaningful for ourselves, our family, and the community we serve.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like most meaningful journeys, it hasn’t been a perfectly smooth road—and we wouldn’t expect it to be. Every stage has brought challenges that required growth, resilience, and perspective.

Earlier in my career, many of those challenges came from navigating constant change in the corporate world—acquisitions, reorganizations, shifting priorities, and the pressure to deliver results amid uncertainty. At the same time, Keith and I were also starting a family, which meant learning how to balance demanding careers with childcare, raising young children, managing school schedules, sports, and everything in between. Juggling professional expectations alongside family responsibilities required constant adjustment and intentionality, but it also shaped how I lead, prioritize, and define success.

Transitioning into business ownership introduced a very different set of challenges. Building a franchise from the ground up meant creating systems, establishing brand awareness, and earning trust one relationship at a time. Every decision carries more weight, and balancing that responsibility with raising three children, staying engaged in our community, and managing the day-to-day realities of entrepreneurship has required ongoing recalibration. Working alongside my spouse adds another layer—rewarding and fulfilling, but also one that requires clear communication, defined roles, and intention to keep both the business and our family strong.

Patience has been one of the greatest lessons. Building something sustainable doesn’t happen overnight, and learning to trust the process and trust in God’s plan—especially after years in fast-paced environments—has been an adjustment. There have been long days and moments of uncertainty, but the challenges have been just as meaningful as the wins. They’ve clarified our values, strengthened our resilience, and reaffirmed why we chose this path in the first place.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Our business is built around helping people feel more at home in the spaces where they live and work. My husband, Keith, and I are the owners of Bloomin’ Blinds of Cumming & Johns Creek, and we provide full-service, custom window treatment solutions for residential and commercial clients throughout North Atlanta.

We specialize in a wide range of products and services, including wood and faux wood blinds; shades such as Roman, bamboo and grass, sheer horizontal, panel track, exterior shades, and sun screens; wood, composite, and specialty-shape shutters; custom draperies and exterior patio shades; and motorization and home automation for convenience, safety, and modern living. We also offer professional repair services, allowing homeowners to extend the life of their window treatments and save on replacement costs when possible.

What we do goes far beyond selling window coverings. We focus on thoughtful design, education, and personalized service—helping clients navigate light control, privacy, energy efficiency, and aesthetics in a way that fits their lifestyle and budget. From the initial consultation to measurement, installation, and long-term support, we handle every step with care. We’re known for being hands-on, responsive, and deeply invested in getting it right.

We’re also proud to represent some of the most respected names in the industry, including Hunter Douglas, Alta Window Fashions, Graber / Springs Window Fashions, Norman Window Fashions, Lafayette Interior Fashions, Carole Fabrics, Horizons Window Fashions, Creative Threads, Insolroll, SunPro Motorized Awnings & Screens, Eclipse Shading, Universal Screens, Sol-Lux, and more. These partnerships allow us to offer tailored solutions for everything from single-room updates to new builds, renovations, and outdoor living spaces.

What truly sets us apart is that we’re a family-owned, locally operated business in an industry that can often feel transactional. We show up personally, stand behind our work, and build long-term relationships with our clients, builders, designers, and referral partners. Our mobile, in-home model brings the showroom experience directly to our customers, making the process convenient, transparent, and customized to each space.

Brand-wise, we’re incredibly proud of the trust we’ve built in our community—most recently recognized by being named Best of Forsyth 2026 and Best of Dawson 2026, an honor that means everything to us because it reflects the voices and experiences of the families and businesses we serve. From 5-star reviews and referrals to repeat clients and partnerships, that trust is the foundation of our brand.

What we want readers to know is that Bloomin’ Blinds is about more than window treatments—it’s about creating comfortable, beautiful spaces while supporting a local, family-run business that truly cares. Whether someone is building, renovating, or simply refreshing a room, our goal is to deliver a seamless experience they feel confident recommending to others.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My biggest piece of advice is to be patient with yourself and the process. When you’re just starting out, it’s easy to feel like you need to have everything figured out immediately—but clarity often comes from action and mistakes, not perfection. You’ll learn more by doing than by waiting for the “right” moment.

It is also incredibly important to build strong relationships and ask for help. You don’t have to do everything alone. Seek out mentors, surround yourself with people who challenge and support you, and don’t be afraid to lean on your community. The right relationships can open doors, offer perspective, and help you navigate challenges more confidently. Put yourself out there. Network, network, network!

It is critical to proactively market your business and invest in brand awareness and PR from the very beginning even before you launch. Visibility doesn’t happen by accident, and it’s not something you can turn on only when you “need” it. Building a brand requires consistent effort, storytelling, and investment over time. The businesses that stand out are the ones that commit to showing up regularly sharing their message, building trust, and staying top of mind.

Another lesson is to stay grounded in your values. Trends, opportunities, and opinions will constantly pull at your attention, but knowing what matters most to you—whether that’s family, integrity, flexibility, or long-term impact—will help guide better decisions, especially during difficult moments.

Lastly, give yourself grace. There will be missteps, long days, and moments of doubt, and that’s all part of the journey. Growth rarely happens without discomfort. If you stay consistent, adaptable, and committed to learning, progress will come—often in ways you didn’t initially expect.
