Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Barnett.
Hi Christina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I fell in love with photography in middle school using my mom’s point-and-shoot. I staged shoots with cousins and anything I could find as a backdrop. In high school, I took photography a class then got a job at a retail photo studio, where I met a friend and started our first business, K&C Photography. I shot weddings, families, events, and concerts while studying Commercial Photography.
After college, I married a fellow photography grad and settled in Monroe, Georgia. I grew A Focused Life Photography with a focus on faith, family and photography. My goal has always been to create calm, fun, and stress-free experiences while capturing real moments. I still show up with the same excitement I had when I first picked up a camera, helping people preserve memories they’ll want forever.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I am building this business while raising four girls. Time was tight. Energy was limited. I am still learning how to protect both, leaning heavily on prayer and a strong support system.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
A Focused Life Photography works with schools, youth sports, families, milestones, and weddings. In every session, my focus is on connection and emotion. I want the kids, parents, or couples to feel comfortable, relaxed, and themselves so the photos reflect real moments. Their photos show joy, excitement, love, and laughter.
I’m known for staying calm, being good with kids, and my dorky sense of humor. I think I’m funny, sometimes my clients agree, but either way it helps everyone loosen up and show their true selves.
I’m most proud of the trust I’ve earned. Schools invite me back. Leagues recommend me. Families keep coming back year after year. Couples let me capture one of the most important days of their lives. That kind of trust shows me I’m doing what matters most: preserving memories that feel real.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Consistency. Faith. Humor.
Consistency keeps everything steady. I show up prepared. I communicate clearly. I follow through. People know they can count on me.
Faith keeps me grounded. It shapes how I treat people and how I lead. It gives me patience and perspective when days get full or chaotic.
Humor is where my personality really shows. I am a dork. I fully know it. I think I am funny, and sometimes my clients agree. Sometimes they just stare at me. Either way, it breaks the ice. It helps people relax. It turns an awkward moment into an easy one.
