Conversations with Yumepai

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yumepai.

Hi Yumepai, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Yume is a multidisciplinary artist. Stage name is yumepai , started off writing down dreams and vision the turned them into songs. I’ve been doing music for 2 years and modeling for 1. Creates music as an escape as well as documentation of my success.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Struggles were not getting support from people closest to me and it only being strangers, and low confidence when posting

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I make music and model. I don’t limited myself to a single category. My Genres included alternative , hip hop/rap , and r&b/soul as of now. I just dropped a mixtape Turned Chic which is one of my best projects. I’m most known for my music and unique sound. I’m most proud of where my mindset is today and my mixtape. A year ago I wasn’t as confident or as polished as I am now. My personality , morals and unique sound set me apart from others. The themes of my song is not like other female artists. That alone sets me apart along with not being comparable to other artist.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Dopejockey is my engineer and owner of str8offdaboat studios. He believed in my sound before I even did. He seen my potential and never half assed with me. He knows the sound and effects that I want without telling him. He has that ear you need and can’t just book from anywhere. Always gave me positive feedback and gave me inside spill that I’ve never gotten from any other engineer. He recorded most of the tracks on Turned Chic, as well as “Fallin On” a single by Yumepai. He has invested time and efforts into my music playing an admirable role in my career.

Coach k is an artist. When I met him he showed me what’s it’s like to be believed in. My first time meeting him I went to his show and seeing how everyone moved for him inspired me. We stayed connected and made great music together. He speaks nothing but greatness over my name and seeks growth and success from me. Filling me with positive affirmations that made me confident enough to start doing what’s needed to get myself out there.

It really is important to have people that believe in you more than you believe in yourself around to get out of that stagnation in life. The best parts about it is meeting people that makes the process worth doing.
