Conversations with Hurricane Main

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hurricane Main.

Hi Hurricane, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hi, my name is Tremain Johnson also known as “Hurricane Main” ceo of Category 10 Entertainment which is a conglomerate for everything related to Hurricane Main. This is my story that I would like to share with you. I was born in a small town just east of Atlanta Georgia called Covington. As a kid I had dreams of becoming a bicycle motocross racer. I grew up a typical teen that always was raised to believe in God and follow my dreams. Though I still followed the crowd and got into mischief which lead to run ins with the law as well as getting into the whole “gangsta rap” thing as a underground rap artist. I eventually became an artist on local recording label Down 20 records. I made a local name for myself with my hit song “Hustle Fo Mine” which was released in summer of 1999. Also at the same time in life I had started competing in bicycle motocross (bmx racing) 11 years earlier. By this time in my life I was competing professionally in BMX racing as well as trying to find my way in rap music. I traveled nationwide for over 15 years competing in this sport in which I developed a fan base, some good sponsors and was known by many as Hurricane Tremain Johnson. Just several years ago I found God and changed my rap focus from secular to motivational music for God. With my main mission being to uplift and motivate people through my songs and motivational speaking. I eventually got offered a show of my own on #hishopradio out of Las Vegas NV. I broadcast my show the “Hurricane Main show” from my home in GA. I’m an advocate for suicide prevention with my movement called “Give life a Chance” which I founded in the wake of my cousin Chance’s death by suicide. I’ve since become a Motivational speaker and a active member of the Rockdale/Newton County Suicide Coalition with whom I collaborate to put on community events to bring awareness to mental health and suicide prevention. Im also a proud father of 5, with two of my daughters currently away at two great college universities. My story is one of perseverance and winning! God has blessed me with my purpose, so in return my wish is to help others tap into the purpose that God has given us all.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Funding my vision has always had its challenges. But where there’s a will there’s a way..

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We at Cat10Ent pride ourselves in bringing awareness to Mental Health and Suicide Prevention. We host live remotes and interview many people in and around our community on our radio platform. Also being on several boards for community awareness has opened doors for us as community event organizers. We cater events with food, live music, games and more. The thing that sets us apart is the fact that we are a radio station that gives opportunities to other organizations that host shows and promotions on our radio station.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I have read many books. A couple that stands out are “The power of positive thinking” by Norman Vincent Peele and “ As a Man Thinketh” by James Allen. I love educating myself about the way we think and I’m a motivational speaker via my platform so many of the things that I’ve learned gets spoken about in my speeches. Each one teach one
