Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Barrett.
Hi Amanda , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started this business while sitting at my desk at my 9–5 job, never imagining how much it would change my life. What began as a leap of faith has become one of the greatest blessings I’ve experienced, and I haven’t regretted a single moment!
My journey began in 2020, but what makes my story unique is that it felt like a calling from the very beginning. When I was 10 years old, I received my first camera as a birthday gift, and from that moment on, photography quietly stayed in the back of my mind. I always loved the idea of becoming a photographer, but I didn’t know that it was actually possible to do that as a career.
Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” I truly believe that! Looking back, it’s clear that this dream was planted long before I understood how it would unfold. I’m deeply honored to serve a God who brings me joy through my work and through the people I’m entrusted to photograph, and to now call photography my full time career! So crazy!!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like any business built from the ground up, it hasn’t been completely smooth, but every challenge has shaped the way I work today. One of the biggest learning curves in the wedding industry is building meaningful connections and trust within such a relationship driven community. That process takes time, consistency, and showing up with intention.
I’ve been fortunate to connect with incredible vendors, venues, and couples. This has taught me the value of collaboration, professionalism, and community, and it has made my business better because of it.
We’ve been impressed with Amanda Beth Photography, LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is centered around people and their experience with me. I believe photography is about more than images. It’s about trust, connection, and making people feel comfortable and valued. What sets me apart is the genuine care I have for my clients.
I take the time to truly get to know my clients and their stories, which turns a photographer client relationship into a friendship (the ultimate goal!). That connection allows me to photograph them in a way that feels natural, relaxed, and true to who they are.
I’m known for an elegant, approachable style and a calm presence, especially during meaningful and high emotion moments. I’m proud relationships I’ve built and the clients who return for multiple seasons of life. When someone works with me, they’re not just hiring a photographer; they’re choosing someone who is fully invested in THEM. 🙂
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Honestly, facebook groups! I have met some amazing people through Facebook groups and connecting via social media. Second/associate shooting for other photographers is also a great way to gain community. Great networking events are bridal shows, venue walkthroughs, etc.
