Community Highlights: Meet Isaiah Eastman of Project Purpose Home Services

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isaiah Eastman.

Hi Isaiah , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My name is Isaiah Eastman, and I’m the co-owner of Project Purpose Home Services alongside my business partner, Duane Godbee II.

Our story actually starts in the sales world , we met working at Cabinets To Go, where Duane was my sales manager. We clicked instantly; the chemistry was there, and we quickly went from colleagues to close friends who discussed everything, from business moves to personal life, including Duane’s deep motivation to build a future for his daughter.

To be honest, the road wasn’t a straight line. We both ended up getting fired from that job, and it hit us hard. We were unemployed, we had no way of making money, and we were both battling some serious depression because of it. It was a really dark time, but it forced us to look for a new path.
Instead of rushing into another 9-to-5, we decided to bet on ourselves. We dove into research, studying different business models and learning everything we could about the home service industry. The real turning point, though, came during a conversation I had with my father. He helped me realize that true success isn’t just about what you take; it’s about what you give. The more you give to your community, the more you get back in return.

That mindset shifted everything for us. We launched our company with a mission bigger than just profits. That’s why we named it Project Purpose Home Services. We aren’t just cleaning or fixing homes; we are building a vehicle to give back.

A percentage of our profits goes directly to different charities, because our main goal is to leave our community better than we found it.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not. Honestly, some days it felt like the road wasn’t just bumpy, it was completely washed out.

On the business side, the transition was a shock to the system. We had to pivot from being sales guys in a showroom to getting our hands dirty in the trenches. We aren’t out here doing roof repairs or construction; we are doing the heavy lifting specifically junk removal and interior/exterior cleaning.

Learning the logistics of hauling, disposal, and the physical toll of clearing out a site was a massive adjustment. We had to figure out how to make a “dirty job” professional and efficient while operating on a shoestring budget.

But the hardest battles were the ones nobody saw. Life didn’t stop hitting us just because we started a business. While trying to get Project Purpose off the ground, we were navigating deep personal valleys. We’ve had to work through major family crises and suffer through profound losses that changed us forever.

Trying to show up for a customer with a smile on your face while you are privately grieving or dealing with heavy situations at home is incredibly difficult. There were times when the weight of our personal lives felt heavier than any junk we were hauling. But that pain is actually what solidified our mission. It reminded us that life is fragile, and if we aren’t doing this for a “Purpose” to help others and give back then the struggle wouldn’t be worth it.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Project Purpose Home Services is a comprehensive exterior and interior cleaning and maintenance company. We are the team you call when you need your home refreshed, cleared out, or maintained, without the hassle of dealing with multiple contractors.

Our services are designed to cover the essential upkeep of a home. We specialize in Junk Removal for those needing to clear out space, alongside a full suite of cleaning services including Pressure Washing, Gutter Cleaning, and even specialized Chimney Cleaning. We handle the dirty work so our customers don’t have to.

What truly sets us apart from the competition is right there in our name: Purpose. We didn’t just start this company to pay bills; we started it to make a difference. We operate on a model where a percentage of our profits is donated directly to different charities. When a customer hires us to clean their chimney or haul away old furniture, they aren’t just paying for a service, they are actively contributing to a cause.
Brand-wise, I am most proud of the resilience that is built into this company.

Project Purpose was born out of a season of deep depression and job loss for both Duane and me. We took that pain and channeled it into a business that serves others. We want your readers to know that we are more than just a cleaning service; we are a community-focused brand dedicated to making Atlanta cleaner and better, one home at a time.

How do you define success?
For us success isn’t defined by the numbers in our bank account or how many trucks we have on the road, even though those things are nice. True success is defined by impact.

It goes back to that conversation I had with my father during one of my lowest points. He told me that the more you give the more you get. Success to me is the ability to turn our hard work directly into help for someone else. When we can look at the profits from a month of grinding doing junk removal or cleaning gutters and write a check to a charity that changes lives, that is success to us.

It is also about resilience. Considering where Duane and I started being unemployed and battling depression and dealing with heavy personal losses just being here standing tall and running a growing business is a massive win.

Success is waking up every day with a Project Purpose and knowing that we aren’t just working for a paycheck. We are working to build a legacy of giving back to the community that raised us.
