Exploring Life & Business with Fernanda Paz of Glück Bakery

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fernanda Paz.

Hi Fernanda, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hi, I’m Fernanda Paz. I’m a Venezuelan woman, an engineer, and an entrepreneur. My journey has not been linear and has been shaped by resilience and reinvention. For several years, I worked toward building my career as an engineer, and although I practice my profession today, there was a long period when my reality looked very different.
When I founded Glück Bakery in March 2024, I was working as a taxi driver and felt emotionally and financially stuck, with a strong need for change.

Baking has always been part of who I am. I grew up in my grandmother’s kitchen, where I learned that homemade food is about love, connection, and shared moments. From a young age, I baked out of passion, and over time cookies became my favorite way to combine flavors, textures, and emotions.

The name Glück means “happiness” in German, and it represents exactly what I wanted to build: a brand that shares small moments of joy through simple things. Today, I balance my career as an engineer while growing Glück Bakery, a brand born from the desire to create something meaningful and personal..

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been learning to trust the process and remain consistent, especially when results aren’t immediate.

Another challenge has been facing fear—fear of making mistakes, putting my work out there, and moving forward on my own. Learning to continue despite uncertainty has been difficult, but also one of the most transformative parts of this journey.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Glück Bakery is my way of sharing happiness through baking. I create New York–style cookies that feel comforting and familiar—crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and made with care.

What makes Glück Bakery special to me is the intention behind every recipe. Each cookie is tested, adjusted, and baked with attention, keeping a homemade feel rather than following trends. I focus on quality, consistency, and creating something I’m truly proud to share.

Brand-wise, what I’m most proud of is the community that has grown around Glück Bakery. Our customers—our “Glückers”—don’t just buy cookies; they connect with a story, a process, and a brand built with love and perseverance. We currently ship nationwide across the U.S., including Puerto Rico.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I’ve learned mostly through reading, researching, and trial and error. Social media and local pop-up events have played an important role in helping me connect with others and learn from real experiences.

What has worked best for me is being authentic and sharing my process from the beginning. Showing the real journey—learning, adjusting, and growing—has allowed genuine connections to form naturally over time.
