Life & Work with Devon Hines of Conyers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Devon Hines.

Hi Devon, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Singer/Songwriter/Producer/Praise Leader,Stage play writer and Director.Devon is unafraid to rock the waves in contemporary gospel music. Born in a suburb of Miami/Atlanta, Devon was inspired by his elementary school music teacher who encouraged him to sing in the youth and elementary school choir. He made his first debut at the ripe age of 8 yrs old singing ‘What the World Needs Now ‘.   Once he saw the expression for the love of his voice on his mother’s face, he knew what he was destined to do—–become a singer.  Devon has performed in the secular realm with many groups and as a soloist and has dazzled many people.  But it was not until a strong and distinct voice from God shook him during a Sunday morning sermon saying “Do not compromise!”  Since then, Devon’s talent and gifts have been strictly for God’s Glory.
“My whole purpose and goal is to let people know that God is a gracious God and that he loves everyone unconditionally” says Devon.  “I want people who may have never attended church or those who don’t normally listen to gospel music to be drawn to the words of God through melody and beat.  After listening to my music, they will begin to hear about the goodness of the Lord.  God’s word never returns void.  A seed will be planted.  Then, it is my prayer that they will discover and come to Jesus however or wherever they are in life.  That’s basically my whole message”.
Devon won a Gospel Choice Award In 2016 for the male vocalist category and in 2022 he won another award in the duo/group category along with Temera L from California.
In 2018 Devon produced along with LaTanya Mitchell a Gospel stage play “ God’s Love.. can you hear me? The play was based on a real life event.. The play brought awareness about autism! “ It was a success!!! Devon have written and toured with several local and national artists Silk,Usher, TLC, Boyz 2Men. His latest single “ Miracles”is a hit! The lyrics are touching and real! It’s currently in regular rotation playing on V-103 FM Sunday Morning Praise Radio Show host by, Larry Tinsley (6am-12noon) he also wrote the jingle for Mr. Tinsley Show.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Life always have it’s battles, but I trust God to handle them.

I’m a proud father to 3 beautiful children
Kavon 26, Keshon 22 and Cynia Hines 20. I’ve known for my giving heart, writing abilities and community service. I’m a giver.
