Hi Rabia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey in education has spanned more than 20 years, and throughout that time my mission has remained the same: helping students gain the tools and confidence they need to succeed.
I began my career as a high school teacher, where I spent 10 years working directly in the classroom. During that time, I saw firsthand how much individual support could impact a student’s understanding, motivation, and long-term success. While many students thrive in traditional classroom settings, others benefit greatly from more personalized instruction. That realization sparked my interest in tutoring and academic support outside the classroom.
About 15 years ago, I started my tutoring business with the goal of providing high-quality academic support tailored to each student’s needs. What began as a small effort to help a few students has grown into a comprehensive tutoring program that supports learners at many stages of their academic journey.
Today, we offer tutoring in all subjects through both one-on-one sessions and small group settings. We also provide structured test preparation for major exams, including the SAT, ACT, AP, TEAS and GRE. Our approach focuses not only on improving scores but also on strengthening core academic skills and building students’ confidence.
We currently operate from our location in Duluth, Georgia, while also serving students nationwide through online tutoring. Technology has allowed us to extend our reach and support students from many different communities.
At the heart of everything we do is a simple belief: every student can succeed when given the right tools, guidance, and encouragement. My goal has always been to create an environment where students feel supported, challenged, and empowered to reach their full academic potential.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the things I’m grateful for is that my journey in education and building my tutoring business has been largely smooth and very rewarding. I’ve always been passionate about helping students succeed, so the work itself has never felt like an obstacle. In many ways, that passion has helped guide the growth of the business naturally.
That said, like any long journey, there have been challenges along the way. One of the biggest has been scaling the level of individualized attention that I believe every student deserves. When I first started tutoring, I was working directly with every student myself. As more families began reaching out, I had to learn how to grow the business while still maintaining the same quality and personalized approach that made our program successful in the first place.
Another challenge has been keeping up with the constantly evolving academic landscape. Standardized tests change, school curriculums shift, and students today face different academic pressures than they did even ten years ago. Staying current with these changes requires continuous learning, curriculum development, and training tutors so that we can always provide the most effective support.
Transitioning into online tutoring was also an important step in our journey. While it opened the door to helping students across the country, it required adapting our teaching methods to make sure students remained engaged and received the same level of support as they would in person.
Overall, I see these challenges as opportunities for growth rather than obstacles. Each step has helped us refine our approach and strengthen our mission. The most rewarding part has always been seeing students gain confidence, improve academically, and realize their potential. Those moments make every challenge worthwhile.
