Hidden Gems: Meet Makyrah Kennedy of Briee The Way

Today we’d like to introduce you to Makyrah Kennedy.

Hi Makyrah, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey into charcuterie actually started through my close friend Theo, who owns a catering company called Manje with Moise. She introduced me to the world of catering and charcuterie, and from the moment I started learning, I became completely invested in the craft.

What began as simply helping and learning quickly turned into a real passion. I fell in love with the creativity of building boards, the presentation, and the way food can bring people together. Over time, that passion grew into my own brand, Briee the Way.

Today, Briee the Way is more than just charcuterie, it’s about creating beautiful, memorable food experiences for people. Whether it’s a grazing table, desserts, or curated boxes, my goal is always to bring flavor, creativity, and a little luxury to every table.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many small business owners, rising food costs have been one of the biggest challenges. I always try to keep my prices reasonable and accessible for people, but with ingredients constantly increasing in price, it can be difficult to balance affordability while still maintaining quality.

Another challenge is keeping up with trends. Social media has made it easier for people to try things themselves, so in many ways it can feel like it’s the business versus the DIY culture. But I’ve learned to see that as motivation to keep elevating what I do; focusing on presentation, creativity, and the overall experience that comes with professionally curated boards and desserts.

Every challenge has pushed me to be more innovative and intentional about my brand, and it’s helped me grow both as a business owner and as a creative.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Briee the Way creates elevated, memorable food experiences through charcuterie boards, dessert trays, and individually packaged treats like our signature puddings. We’re known for bold flavor combinations, beautiful presentation, and a level of care that makes every order feel special. What sets us apart is the creativity and attention to detail in every piece, making each experience luxurious yet approachable. For your readers, I want them to know that Briee the Way isn’t just about food—it’s about the experience. Whether it’s a grazing table for 15 or a box of individually packed puddings, we focus on flavor, aesthetics, and creating something thoughtful and indulgent. My goal is to make every occasion feel a little more special and every bite a little more memorable.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I definitely wouldn’t be where I am today without some incredible people in my corner. First and foremost, my close friend Theo deserves so much credit—she literally put me into this world of charcuterie and continues to be a key source of guidance, support, and inspiration. She’s been there every step of the way, sharing her knowledge, encouragement, and expertise.

I also have to give a huge shoutout to my girlfriend, Moe, who is right alongside me in all aspects of my work. From brainstorming ideas to helping execute them, she’s been a partner in every sense—making sure the vision of Briee the Way comes to life exactly how I imagine it.
