Conversations with Jeffry Tizon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeffry Tizon.

Hi Jeffry, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been passionate about drawing since grade school, and it’s always been my hobby. I dreamed of working with professionals, inspired by the superhero comic books I loved reading. After graduating, I worked as an illustrator for a private studio in the city, creating textbooks for schools. Although I enjoyed it, I eventually had to move back to the province to be closer to my family.

As a freelancer, I’ve had the opportunity to work with international clients, which has helped me develop my skills in drawing and coloring comic book pages. Now, I have a stable job that allows me to pursue my passion for drawing and work on comic book projects. I’m grateful to the comic book creators who have trusted me with their work 😊

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s not always been easy. I struggled in the city, being away from my family and dealing with expenses.

And then, as a freelancer, there were times when projects were scarce, and I’d go through long intervals before getting the next one. I also had to push myself to practice and study comic book-style drawing and coloring.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I work on drawings and coloring, trying to stay true to the character model provided by clients while adding my own touches. Still, I’ve got a lot to learn 😊

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Playing games outside and video games with my friends. Also the Drawing sessions at night with my childhood friend in my room.
