Terri, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Well, I always knew what I wanted and how I wanted it to be. A career history of experience in the Supply Chain industry definitely helped me when looking for and integrating the right resources and partnerships for manufacturing and distribution.
For years my dog, Maggie, struggled with skin allergies contributing to a stinky, dirty pet bed. This caused stress for both of us in trying to keep it clean. Plus, I had to purchase a new pet bed every so often. Not all pet beds can be placed in the washer and dryer. If they can, they often don’t truly get clean or fit well afterwards.
One day I was cleaning the house and cleaning her bed when the idea hit me. Stores did not have a removable pet bed cover in the design and material I was looking for and needed. That is when Topperz came to life!
Topperz was designed and created for healthy living and peace of mind when taking care of your pet’s bed. It is a soft, washer/dryer safe, moisture-wicking, waterproof material that will not bead or roll off.
Over the years, it has been a roller coaster stop– and –go ride when it comes to all aspects of the product but with determination, passion, research from consumers, friends, family, partnerships, and most of all prayer and faith, today we have our manufacturing and distribution in place and it is great!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Yes, for the most part, it has been a relatively smooth ride with Topperz. Having a supply chain background has definitely helped when starting all 3 companies. Topperz is a B2C consumer product company, Alliance Solutions Group is a B2B Technology Company, and ASG HOPE Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit supporting K-12 with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) activities focused in Supply Chain. You are the company and responsible for everything that comes with running it.
Financial matters, paperwork, partnerships, legal, running errands, your team, the list goes on and on. Any entrepreneur faces both good and bad times. However, the positive side is it contributes to your growth personally and professionally while you learn what to do and not to do moving forward. And speaking for myself, my passion is greater than it ever has been.
Topperz Inc – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Topperz pet bed covers absorb on top and traps on the back. This is due to our moisture-wick material and protective backing, which helps stop any soiling, dirt, dander, mud, or any of those other messes pets tend to get into from getting through.
Topperz bed covers are washer/dryer safe and are an easy on/easy off process. If your pet has health needs or you just want to keep their bed clean and fresh, the ability to wash the covers provides peace of mind and simplicity. Taking care of your Pet’s bed has never been so easy!
Creating our own design and using a moisture-wick material with a protective backing, differentiates us from current products already out in the market. We work to do our best at everything we touch while thinking of our fur babies and their owners.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment for me is seeing my pet bed cover going to my first customer. It was months of all the “stuff” that comes from bringing it to life. All of the research that went into it and all of the discussions about how to put the pieces together to create and produce a product were well worth it. My Topperz products exceeded my customer’s expectations and the feedback was amazing!
