Today we’d like to introduce you to Krystal Kruger.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Krystal. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I grew up in Southern California and moved here in 2007. I worked in restaurants for the last 10 years and worked my way up to general manager, but wanted to run my own business. The only thing I could see myself doing for the rest of my life was working in the metaphysical community. I have a real passion for all things metaphysical and paranormal.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My life has never been a smooth road, more like a dirt road out in the country. Starting this business was a strange experience because as far as roadblocks go, I didn’t really hit any. Starting a business is never easy, but I’ve heard some horror stories. Thankfully, I knew that this is what I was supposed to do and it looks like things opened up to allow that.
Please tell us about Eclipse New Age Books and Gifts.
My store is an eclectic mix of new age and metaphysical. Not only that but I sell artwork from local artists and goods from local artisans. I feel that what sets me apart is the reason behind the opening. I wanted the store to feel safe for people from all walks of the spiritual life. I wanted it to be a place that helped people on their journey, whatever it may be. The main goal wasn’t money, but for people to have a gathering place of like-minded individuals.
What I feel that we are getting to be known for here are education and a welcoming spirit. The goal is to help educate people who are new to this lifestyle and also the community. I have quite a few classes and workshops here as well as events like movie nights.
What I’m most proud of is the sense of coming home when people walk into the store. I get a lot of feedback saying that the store “feels good” or the energy is comforting.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I don’t know if there is much I would change.
