Today we’d like to introduce you to Christine Saint Louis.
Christine, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was actually a double science major in college. But all through college even though school came easy to me I knew the medical field was not my calling. I never needed the side job because I was always doing hair to make extra money. Once I finished decided to go to cosmetology school. I fell in love with doing hair. My clients would always complement me on how my makeup looked and suggested that I do theirs. Which is how I started to dabble in makeup artistry. Needless to say I ended up falling in love. I barely do hair anymore. I started off eventually freelancing for MAC Cosmetics. After freelancing with them for a few years I’ve gained a position at one of their counter in a Nordstrom. Eventually relocated to Atlanta and took a job opportunity what’s the sco eventually relocated to Atlanta and took a job opportunity with Sephora. Within a year of being with Sephora I’ve became a senior artist. I was one of three in the Southeast. Does the singer artist we would facilitate trainings and eight other associates in there artistry development. After being in this position for two years I decided it was time to venture out on my own. I currently own my own studio and specialize in luxury make up services.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It hasn’t been easy all in all my journey has been close to 15 years. My advice is don’t give up! If it’s truly what you want and truly what you desire keep going for it. Good things happen for those who work for it don’t sit and wait for it! Don’t be afraid to reach out and ask for help the worst I can happen to somebody says no. But there’s always at least one yes out there! I would say honestly my biggest struggle was not having the support that I felt like I needed from friends and family. But I turned that into my biggest motivation I wanted them to see me thrive. So I use that as the fuel to my fire to make me drive and push myself further.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Amelie Artistry llc – what should we know?
This is hard because I do so many things I still do some hair styling mostly bridal. I also do make up and lashes extensions. And I recently just added some new services to the menu, laser lipo being one of them! Oh and I teach!!!!! I would say that I specialize in luxury bridal services & education. What truly sets me apart from others is the experience that I’m providing.!
Do you recommend any apps, books or podcasts that have been helpful to you?
Pretty much read any business book that I can get my hands on! And I love any app that helps what organization. I like to keep Lists and my calendar/scheduling close by. Anything to make sure that I don’t forget things makes my life easier.
