Meet Antoinne Duane Jones of Antoinne Duane Jones Media

Today we’d like to introduce you to Antoinne Duane Jones.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
It all started as a basically a dare. My, then, wife at the time mentioned that I would always talk about taking pictures but I never did it. So we did a shoot of her. A week later I showed my mom some photos and she said I had talent that I should pursue. I took that as confirmation and went out and bought a $2000 Sony DSLR.

My degree is in marketing so it was a perfect blend. From that point in Myrtle Beach, back to NC where we graduated college where we stayed for 10yrs, through a divorce then the ultimate move to the Atlanta area has been a sum total of 13yrs. The move to Atlanta from NC was sparked because the need to be in a bigger, better market was evident.

Has it been a smooth road?
The road has been full of potholes and smooth stations. Near year 8 of photography, I went through a divorce which was truly almost the demise of the business. The mental toll was nearly unbearable. Within that timeframe, I became the custodial parent for my daughter. So in essence at one of the lowest points in life, I became a single dad, which was tasked to start life over from rock bottom.

Other than that, the transition from NC to GA wasn’t super smooth. It takes much to take a step of faith to be an entrepreneur in a place you’ve built your business for 10 yrs to totally leave for a new market where not many people know you.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Antoinne Duane Jones Media, formerly Duane Jones Photography started as a simple photography company. Over 10yrs, I became known for fashion photography which grew into dealings in weddings, sports, events, family photos, senior portraits and more. The whole blossom of this company was based on a customer service and experience.

After a while, the emphasis became more on helping others so I searched my heart and realized my foundation in marketing and business management was the true reason the company survived a decade. So upon the move to Atlanta, we restructured to a media firm so we could focus on photography with brand consulting, creative direction and more.

We are most proud of the level of customer service and the joyful experience clients have when booking us. That process was rewarded by only being in Atlanta for one year yet being awarded ATL’s Hottest Photographer by the TAHAA. The creativity, style, service and experience sets us apart.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Atlanta is a good place. It is jam-packed with competition and with opportunity. If you are a go-getter, this is the place for you to grow.
