Meet Jessica Light of JJ Social Light

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Light.

Jessica fell into this industry by accident and it turned out to be the right one for her.

Today, it’s impossible for Jessica to define herself and not take into account her social media obsession. It’s who she is. Working on and managing multiple websites has helped her to gain a great wealth of knowledge related to online marketing, search engine optimization (SEO) techniques, social media strategies, website optimization and so on.

She strives to be able to share what she has learned in a way that her clients can easily understand and put into practice; from building their online business and defining their social media goals, to optimizing and marketing their websites. First and foremost she wants to help fellow entrepreneurs make their first step into the world of online businesses and guide them through the process of creating their digital footprint.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I had the opportunity to start and run my own business, and excuses weren’t going to control my life’s narrative. No more was the “sit down Jessica” voice going to control me. I was going to stand up and do what I always wanted to do.

I got one customer and then another and then another. Each time I was on what felt like the edge of the earth and I was about the fall. Each call I nearly threw up, each in-person meeting I was praying for God to speak through me since I was so FREAKED OUT nothing would come out of my mouth.

With that helped me gain confidence that I can actually do “this” and “they” couldn’t tell me how to run my life anymore. I was finally living out what I had dreamed of for many years. I was building my business by helping others build theirs. I was constantly in learning mode. If someone asked me if I could do something, I said YES. But I didn’t actually know how to do it, but I learned how.

YouTube and Google were on “speed dial” as they used to say. My skill set was improving, I was growing, learning. And for a while it was amazing! But… something snuck in and the saying “the devil you do know is better than the one you don’t”. My old “friend” FEAR slipped its way back into my life. This time disguising itself as Imposter Syndrome.

All these doubts were flooding my mind, that I really didn’t know what I was doing, people were going to find out I was just “faking it”. I had spent 15 years is mostly a stay at home mom to my 4 kids, and now people were going to find out that is all I was. Little did I know that most entrepreneurs struggle with this, and its called Imposter Syndrome. But the thing was they were all lies. I did know what I was doing! I was getting real results for my clients.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Marketing is all about connecting and forming relationships. While you may not need to get so personally involved with your own clients, we believe that unique and very personalized social media strategies are what set you apart from your competition – but we can’t get you there unless we connect with you.

The relationship we share with all of our clients is very special. Instead of a digital marketing company that throws out stock messages and hashtags, we want to talk to you; get your views and opinions – what will get you noticed online is having a business with a personality and unique content that helps boost your SEO and makes your business more relatable to your target audience.

Through communicating with your clients about their exact business values and goals, we can more easily come up with hyper-specialized content and strategies that work for your business – and your business alone.

What were you like growing up?
I grew up in a small town in Washington State. On lots of land with horses. My mom was a stay at home mom, and my dad worked his but off but never made a lot of money. My parents struggled a lot, and money was always tight.

I was (and still am) extremely independent, I always had dreams of traveling the world, a life of abundance. I always knew there was “more” but never could grasp what more was. I always teased I was going to live in Jessica’s world. In fact one Christmas my parents made me a little island out of construction paper and glitter, and called it “Jessica’s World”.
