Today we’d like to introduce you to David Nash.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have always been interested in science and I won 4 science fairs from 5-8th grade in elementary school. In high school, I took on a love for the human body.
I became a certified personal fitness trainer in 2001 while I was attending Kennesaw State University for my Bachelors in Health and Physical Education. I thought that it would be good to work in the fitness and wellness field while in college because I figured this would give me an edge on obtaining a teaching and coaching position.
Originally my goal was to teach full time in the public schools, and coach sports to supplement the income. In the spring of 2008 during my 1st year of teaching, I received the opportunity to open my own group fitness class inside of my uncle’s facility called Leapin’ Lizards Inflatable Center. I coached only the first 2 years. In the 3rd year of teaching, business really began growing and I decided to stop coaching and only teach and run fitness classes before and after work a few days per week.
In 2012 we opened a 2nd location in a small studio in Smyrna. Now, we have our own flagship centers in Decatur and Smyrna. Both centers are around 3500 square ft, equipped with functional training equipment, multiple bathrooms, a consultation room, a large studio room for classes, and a smaller studio room for personal training.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
At times we had to overcome marketing challenges, but we have great support from our clients. In those challenging times funds were tight, and we could not afford to do certain things. Some of our clients would pitch in with their time and services to help our vision continue. Others would make a wonderful post on social media and bring in friends.
We’ve had lawyers review information for free, and 2 architects involved in creating renderings for our current centers. Our fitness center is a community of people with loving hearts. It’s truly a fitness family.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Pinnacle Fitness Center – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Pinnacle Fitness Center is a functional training program that specializes in weight loss and athletic performance. We’ve helped over 2,000 people lose weight and gain better health over the last 10 years. The 3 services we offer are Personal Training, Group Classes and Nutritional Counseling.
Our highly popular group classes are performed without the use of barbells and can accommodate a wide range of fitness levels. Pinnacle Fitness Center uses a unique strength and interval day-to-day training split called the Split Max Method TM to produce optimal results. This training split allows each individual to maximize strength and muscle performance as well as reduce body fat rapidly.
Strength classes are held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and Interval classes are held on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Clients are encouraged to come to a combination of both modalities throughout the week to gain muscle and burn fat. Coupled with our 3-Phase Fitness Model our clients receive high-quality fitness training with custom programming to create an unmatched experience.
Philosophy
3-Phase Fitness Model:
At Pinnacle Fitness Center we take each client through our 3-phase fitness model to help pair the clients with a personalized plan for optimal health. Our approach is to adequately offer services that apply to our client’s specific situation.
Phase 1: Evaluation:
During phase 1 we calculate the client’s fitness level through our series of health assessments. The results of health assessments allow our staff to appropriately recommend the path of fitness programming the clients will need throughout their time at Pinnacle Fitness Center.
Phase 2: Fitness Programming:
In phase 2 we create the course of action our clients will take from our listed fitness services. The fitness services that we offer are personal training, premier level training (small group classes) and studio level training (large group classes).
Phase 3: Nutrition Programming:
During phase 3 we customize a nutrition plan specific to each client’s metabolism. Our custom nutrition plan provides our clients with a roadmap of their nutrition regimen and gives information on specific calorie requirements, portion sizes, and meal pairings.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We plan to help more people reach their optimal fitness level and open more facilities. We work hard to put our program together and our staff strives to give our best every day. We’ve had a lot of miracles and blessings along the journey. We’ve learned from many challenges and have created a program that’s safe, effective and is a great model to franchise in the future.
