Meet Nicholas Cousar of NeverMindCreating

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicholas Cousar.

Nicholas, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have been fascinated with the arts since early childhood. By the time I was five, I was showing my parents my extraordinary talents like mimicking legends such as Earth, Wind and Fire and Michael Jackson. I started to play the drums for my church and began writing and performing my own songs and music. I attended Northwest School of the Performing Arts, in Charlotte, NC. I learned music theory, engineering/recording arts, film recording and the music business while performing in the band and performing showcase.

After graduating in 2010, I moved to Atlanta to attend the Art Institute of Atlanta to continue my education and pursue my dreams as becoming a recording artist and producer. I transferred from the Art Institute of Atlanta and completed my associate degree in business at Georgia Perimeter Community college. While attending college my passion, for my music grew while experiencing new things on my music journey but I knew, that I had unfinished business that needed to be completed like earning my bachelors degree.

So I enrolled into Savannah State University as an online transfer student in the business management program and I started my own multimedia production company entitled Never Mind Creating in 2016!!!!!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, it has not been a smooth road, but it has been a wonderful experience. Operating a business has its ups and downs. Some of the struggles that I faced along the way have been growing my client because NeverMind Creating is a new and upcoming company, so we have to compete with other multimedia production companies that are well established and have a loyal clientele.

So as the owner of the company I must keep my faith, stay focused and positive and know that as a company we will not have rough roads all the time. Thank you to all of my loyal clients and I cannot wait to work with new clients.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about NeverMindCreating – what should we know?

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
There are a lot of people who deserve credit but there are a few who have played a huge role in my success, like my praying mother who is my number one fan, my supporter but also think she’s my secretary. She promotes my business by word of mouth and booking me with new clients.

My father plays a huge role in my success as my mentor by being a true supporter and help with making good business decisions. So Thank you, dad, for teaching me “Business First, Play later”. My little brother Jeremy, play a huge role in my success as a supporter and teammate because you make me remember that I have someone watching my every move and I have to continue to be a great leader and lead by examples. Thank you, little brother, for all of your encouraging words.

To all of my family and friends, thank you all for love and support.

My Pastor, who is also my mentor and supporter. you’ve played a huge role in my success because you saw something within me that I did not see within myself, you push me to start my business NeverMind Creating. you’ve allowed me to walk with you, you’ve prayed and covered me at all times. Thank you for everything.

“Be a sponge; soak up as much as you can, from those around you and those who inspire you to hone your craft.” These words have always stuck with Me, These words were spoken by my late mentor Mr. Michael A. Washington.

“Stay Pure and True to yourself and allow your light to shine” These words were spoken by my mentor E. Billingsley

GCAPP Organization deserves credit because I was invited to share my story as a former Peer-UP educator for GCAPP about how the organization has made a huge impact in my life for Jane Fonda’s 80th birthday event. I was also able to talk about my business and my music which allowed me to establish a more personal relationship with GCAPP and the organization to help promote the TMI Georgia APP, which was created by me and other Peer educators.
