Meet Trailblazer Chloe Faith Harper

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chloe Faith Harper.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Chloe Faith. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I became vegan 3 years ago. I am an A+ blood type and a vegan lifestyle is suggested for me to remain in great health. A major part of a vegan lifestyle is preparation because often times there’s no food options for us. I am an avid meal prepper and have taught a few vegan cooking classes. I love to cook and since becoming vegan there hasn’t been much that I’ve missed from the old lifestyle that I couldn’t make vegan. I’m a big sweets person and I had been missing white chocolate. I looked around at my local grove stores and realized that there was no vegan white chocolate available locally and one brand of it available online. I had been thinking of making some myself for about 6 months. While on holiday in South Africa last December, I promised myself that when I returned home I would get my dreams out of my head. When I returned back to Atlanta in January, I did just that and A+ Positive Vegan was born. As an A+ blood type, I have lots of food allergies. As such, A+ Positive Vegan Chocolate is soy-free, gluten-free and preserve-free. It all started with white chocolate peanut butter cups and now our brand of chocolate includes over 20 flavors including golden milk chocolate, matcha chocolate, milk chocolate pecan bars and more!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This is my second go round with a small business. I’ve failed before (which used to make me cry years ago but now, I wear it as a badge of honor) so, I have a bit more knowledge under my belt. My advice to young women would be to “just do it” like Nike! Try, maybe fail, learn and try again! There’s no harm in being a serial entrepreneur. There is some harm in not fully realizing your potential. As I sit with this business now, I have another brand cooking in my brain that I am currently trademarking. I will roll it out in 2019. Maybe all of my businesses will take off, maybe just one of them. Regardless, I have lots of gifts and this is what it looks like to live up to my potential as a creative with a unique point of view. I also work full time as a seamstress in the tv/film industry so… I got gifts lol!

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about A Positive Vegan – what should we know?
Full time I am a seamstress/tailor in the film industry. I build costumes from scratch and do alterations for the cast. I am also the owner of A+ Positive Vegan, a soy-free/gluten-free/preservative-free chocolate company. APV has also branched out to t-shirts. There is no other vegan chocolate company on the market with the variety that we offer. As a company, we also collect menstrual cups for young women in South Africa to ensure that they don’t have to miss school during their cycle. Giving back is a big part of the brand.

Which women have inspired you in your life?
My mother and my grandmothers because they taught me to cook. My mother specifically because after realizing how much I enjoyed sewing in high school, she encouraged me to go to college for what I loved. In turn, I have a BS in Fashion Merchandising and Apparel Design and I’ve been working in my field all of my life. I am proof that your gifts truly make room for you.
