Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrian Thomas.
Adrian’s (Ace) father was and still is a major influence in his passion for photography. Before he was born, his father was doing still photography. Looking to create his own niche in arts, Ace studied video at American Intercontinental University earning a Bachelor of Arts in Media Production.
One night in 2015, after a video shoot with his father, they both stepped out on a balcony and took a picture of the skyline of the city of Atlanta. That was the moment Ace’s love for photography began and he have not looked back since.
He joined a group of Atlanta photographers, called “CrewThick”. Through the years, CrewThick developed a close friendship, and like family they travel together and photograph various states such as: Illinois, New York, Washington, D.C., Tennessee, and Florida.
Ace owes all of his photography skills and editing skills to his father and his CrewThick members. They are the ones day in and day out that push him to keep going and get better.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I am a photographer and I capture beautiful imagery of people, places and things.
I capture the beautiful pictures by just shooting whatever I see whatever I think is beautiful and try to show it from a different point of view
I am a photographer because I love to show people a different aspect of something that they have already seen or may look at daily.
In my artwork, the message I hope people take away is that this world has a lot of beautiful things we may skip over, so slow down and enjoy this life. This life have is too short to stress about things you have no control over, so do what you love and have fun doing it.
You should know that my artwork is what I see and how I see it. You are actually looking at the world with my eyes. None of my photos are Photoshop. No I don’t carry a bottle of water around with me. Now I do manipulate the colors a little bit because I like colorful pictures but my art is pretty much what I see is what you get.
Do current events, local or global, affect your work and what you are focused on?
I think the role of artist has not changed but it has actually become more important. With my form of art to it is very important to document and capture historical events (marches, protests, political elections) and emotions to tell the story of what is going on.
Worldly events and issues affect my art in many different ways. If I’m capturing a candid photo it can affect the emotion on a person’s face or what they are doing. It can also affect how some scenery looks if I’m capturing cityscape or nature photos.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
My work can be seen on Facebook and Instagram. Anybody looking to purchase any of my artwork, you can message me on any of these platforms or send me an email.
