Meet Essence Pugh of A Touch of Essence Event Decor in Gwinnett County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Essence Pugh.

Essence , can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started planning events about 15 years ago. It all started with small family events like birthday parties, dinners, and trips, you name it – I was the one! 10 years ago, I had the opportunity to plan one of the most special events in the world, the day I married my best friend! 250 Guest, Vendors, and all the crazy that comes along with wedding planning! I loved it! Truly, it was fulfilling to me to see everything come together and actually enjoy my wedding day because of all the work that I completed before the Big Day! Soon after the wedding, I had many people making comments like “That was the best wedding I have ever been too!”, “I can’t believe everything started on time”, “WOW, you were able to have fun and you planned and decorated it”! That made me soon realize that everyone wasn’t experiencing the same for such a special day. This is what birth my passion for planning and decorating weddings, life, and corporate events. I believe that it is critical that everyone has the same opportunity to celebrate life and create lasting memories. More than likely, if you are on the planning committee, the cousin, sister, friend that has raised your hand for this special task or you have decided to DO-IT-YOURSELF, you will not fully enjoy the event that you have planned due to the many tasks, critical attention to detail and staff required to ensure the event is one to remember. Since 2010, I have had many events and everyone still raves about the events I plan, the relationship I have with my clients, and the unique décor specific for each event. Over the years, I have invested in certifications, training, continued to build relationships with new and existing clients, and remained willing to learn which has led me to where I am today!

Has it been a smooth road?
Like all business, you will definitely have some bumps along the way, however, I am grateful for my journey. I have some of the most amazing and loyal clients and vendors in SC! Since I recently relocated to Georgia starting to build my clientele and vendor relationships in this market. One of the key differences I have noticed is most of my clients were referred to me by previous clients or someone who attended one of my events, I have to build that here! I am definitely up for the challenge.

A Touch of Essence specializes in event planning and décor including – Weddings, Wedding Day Management, Family Reunions, Corporate, Birthday, Baby Showers and Bridal Showers. We are known as the one stop shop, exquisite event designs, and amazing Customer Service. I am most proud that I have the unique opportunity to help my clients create lasting memories. We have a 5 Star rating and our clients are always blown away with the finished product. We have a simple planning process, that assists our clients to have a stress-free planning process. How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see the industry becoming simpler yet bold in our designs, processes and planning to ensure a simple, easy, unique experience for our clients.
