Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA. I moved to Atlanta 5 years ago because there are more opportunities here, especially in the beauty industry. It took me a long time to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. I tried out a few different colleges and realized it wasn’t for me. I’ve always loved to get my brows, nails, and lashes done. So I figured I would try out beauty school.
First, I went to beauty school to be a nail technician, I liked doing nails but didn’t love it. I went back to beauty school for my esthetician license. I started off working in multiple spas doing facials, full body waxing, lashes, and brows.
Once I moved to Atlanta, I noticed there was a high demand for eyebrows. I decided to specialize in waxing and tinting, and I absolutely love it. It took a lot of hard work, dedication, and consistency to get where I am today, and I am just getting started!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a rocky road! There is not a book on how to open up a business and no set way to do it. Everything has been trial and error with me. I never had a mentor, and I am the first person in my family to open up my business.. so sometimes it can be frustrating trying to figure out everything on your own, but if you want something bad enough you will do whatever it takes to get it.. even if it takes you a little bit longer than everyone else.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Nicole’s Beauty Lounge – what should we know?
Here at Nicole’s Beauty Lounge, we specialize in luxury eyebrow waxing and tinting services. We have been in business for two years, and plenty more to come! Tinting is a semi-permanent dye that lasts up to 2 weeks. Tinting is great for those who fill in their brows every day, it definitely saves time.
We also offer a variety of lash services, including strip lashes, individual lashes, and the lash lift and tint. Lash lifting is a fairly new technique that curls up your natural lashes and lasts 6-8 weeks. We have a cosmetics line that’s called NBL Cosmetics (NBL stands for Nicole’s Beauty Lounge). We have an exfoliating scrub, mink strip lashes, eyebrow gel, and growth serum for your lashes and brows.
Customer service is extremely important to us, we always make sure every client loves their brows before they walk out the door. We always strive to provide a 5-star service for our clients.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Integrity. I believe that having a great work ethic, and consistency is the key to success.
