Today we’d like to introduce you to Troy Koch.
Troy, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started Feb 1997 as a part time employee while attending college. When I graduated in 2001, I was promoted to a full-time employee as the manager working for an absentee boss. After 2.5 years of running the business, the owner decided to move to Florida selling the business to me July 2004. Sole ownership means taking on all the core responsibilities. As a new owner it was very stressful and yet I was able to rely on my college business education and I made it thru the recession. One of the ways that I been able to be successful is by adding new equipment and excellent customer service. I pride my myself on paying attention to details and truly caring for each customer increasing my loyal customer base.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Recession hit 2007-2010. Tanning just wasn’t a necessity. Tanning was considered as a luxury item and a lot of people cut tanning out.

What were you like growing up?
I grew up being very ambitious. I highly motivated to be successful.
