Today we’d like to introduce you to Sean Fahie.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Sean. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
First off, I just want to say thanks. So a long story short, long story long about my history. I’ve been involved with art and art making since I was maybe five. But professionally my career truly started in Atlanta, and this is the city where I also grew into an adult. I am currently a designer, illustrator, author, I co-run a day party named Pretty Sweet, and I am part of an art podcast entitled The Influencers Present. I got started in the arts because it’s one of the things that I truly loved, practiced at, and didn’t give up on. And I guess it doesn’t make sense for me to want to do anything else because this has brought me both happiness and pain. But all and all the ride has been amazing.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I don’t think it is supposed to be a smooth road. Who learns anything when everything is giving to you? I mean the struggle, I’m sure, is the same as many others. Self-doubt, being broke (but that shit helps you figure out your strengths), trying to figure it out. But I would rather talk about how all the challenges actually make you better. To be cliched, all of the challenges only make you better even if you don’t get the thing you wanted. All the failures still prepare you for what is supposed to be yours. It’s just hard to accept failure. But it is inevitable. The more you understand that, the easier it is for you to continue to move forward in your life.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Sean Fahie – what should we know?
I specialize in being the best me I can possibly be. LOL, seriously though. I know that I specialize in art making, whether it’s filmmaking, writing, painting, design, or shit talking. I don’t know what other people know me for, but does that even matter? I’m proud of the fact that my creativity has taken me as far as it has. Nothing sets me apart from other people. I’m told I have a bit of charisma, but I do have the work to also back that up. I just kept going and kept working on getting better, and I’m still working on getting better. I guess being a published author is one of the things I can be very proud of. You can find them on amazon.com and b&n.com.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Just doing my best to stay on top of creating work. Everybody wants to; some people start, some rarely finish. Finishing would be the most important part of my very minimal success.
