Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Legena (gena) Crawford
Hi Dr. Legena (gena), so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
The foundation of my story rests upon the words passion, potential, and purpose. Each word has led to the birthing of its entity and all-encompassing of who I am today. In 2013, my passion inspired the launch of The P.O.W.E.R Experience (TPE) to empower and equip business owners and ministry leaders with tools for planning and executing their vision, ideas, and dreams. In 2019, I tapped into my potential and founded LSC Ministries (LSCM633), which provides mentorship, motivation, and life development skills. In 2020, my purpose led to the launch and planting of P.O.W.E.R. Point Christian Ministries (P2), where we teach and preach the word of God with clarity and understanding that worship is a lifestyle.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road to managing and maintaining everything I steward has not been smooth. Some struggles and challenges I have experienced include some unforeseen and sometimes pleasant life changes, including but not limited to age, career, health, parenthood, educational attainment, and more. Other battles included self-doubt, burnout, hypocrisy, comparison, and sometimes the fear of success.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My life’s work and purpose have navigated me down the avenues of pastor, consultant, educator, author, mentor, and motivational speaker. Traveling these roads and having to switch lanes when needed has allowed me to assist others in realizing and reaching their full God-given potential. I am most proud of my wife, mother, daughter, friend, and student role. Other accomplishments include earning a doctorate in Organizational Leadership and compiling my solo and family literary works. Additionally, how I understand, explain, and connect natural occurrences to spiritual connotations through words and, more specifically, acronyms sets me apart from others. I am now affectionately known as “The Wordsmith.”
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
My initial and typical response to this question would be taken from a textbook or dictionary that would allow people to connect with the standard understanding of the word. As life progresses and I learn more about myself and my purpose, I define success as obedience to God and pursuing the efforts of striving to reach the standards and biblical principles He has set explicitly for my life.
