Today we’d like to introduce you to Albert P Hall IV.
Albert, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I have been working with wood since the age of four, WOW! my whole life focused on wood! Add to that, my college education and past career as an electrical engineer and earning the highest award in scouting “Eagle Scout”. I bring you a skilled mix which is perfect for creating awesome designs and a professional level of service. Every day my business thrives because people like you appreciate what I do. Thank you!!! My motto is everything in wood except kitchen cabinets. There are plenty of cabinet shops out there, my choice is to focus on the rest of the areas in your home or office.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I am a maker of fine handcrafted furniture wood turned bowls and vessels as well as other unique wood pieces. Not being the usual woodworker, I choose to work with wood in many areas including wood turning and carving. Since wood is my passion, my goal is to bring that passion to you through the pieces I create. Functionality and appearance are very important. Each piece must be visually pleasing as well as comfortable and useful. My recent work has focused on multi-functionality, making pieces that can serve its user in many ways, therefore, adding more value. I have made custom pieces for every room in the house. My wood bowls and vessels decorate many homes across the country because I sell them at Art Shows and Art galleries around the country. I also sell work from my web page. www, albertswoodstudio.com I have been selling my work professionally since 1985. My business Albert’s Wood Studio has been my full-time career since 2004
How do you think about success, as an artist, and what do quality do you feel is most helpful?
Success is being able to wake another day and continue to create and sell pieces to people who want unique and custom wood pieces. I have created awesome relationships with my customers. Even years later, I hear from customers who bought a piece. My parents and scouting taught me to be honest and trustworthy. I want my customers to have the best work I can create when they are happy I am happy
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
My work is always on display on my website. I sell work at Art Shows, typically east of the Mississippi and all points north and south In Atlanta I exhibit every year consistently at the American Craft Council Show located at the Cobb Galleria. It is always in March I do other shows in Atlanta but not every year. You never have to wait just send an email and that will start the process. I only continue to be in business full time because people buy my work, the best way to support my work is to buy it if you appreciate it.
