Check Out Adryana Walter’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adryana Walter.

Hi Adryana, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I began my journey in 2007 at Netherworld Haunted House doing special effects makeup and learning from several classes taught by Roy Wooley (Face Off season 3 & 5). In 2009, I began working for Kellyn Willey of PinUp Girl! Cosmetics which specializes in the many looks of traditional 40’s and 50’s style hair and makeup. This led me to doing hair and makeup for The DVI Group for several commercials, as well as many other movies that were being filmed in the Atlanta area.

In 2013 I expanded my talents by registering at The Paul Mitchell School and graduated in 2014 top of the class. I obtained her Master Cosmetologist license and began working at ULTA. After only one year, I decided to run my own business and started DarkSide Shears, which was an on-call service that catered to disabled people incapable of leaving their house. By far, my favorite part about being in this industry is being able to help men and women from all walks of life feel confident and beautiful.

Throughout my journey, I worked in other salons like Toni&Guy and Mae Magnifique and also taught a specialty class about Pin Up style hair and make-up at The Paul Mitchell School in Atlanta. As of 2020, I have been part of the MarieMarie Salon and their amazing team of talented stylists excited for new adventures, to transform more people, and to always learn all that I can from this industry.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Trying to be a mother and a successful hair witch is never easy but with the help of my amazing husband, it has been smooth sailing for the most part. During the pandemic, it was a very challenging time, but I kept focused and determined to fulfill my dream of working at a fantastic salon in Atlanta.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a hair witch! I make all your mermaid/unicorn/fantasy hair dreams a reality! I am known for my vivid colours, rainbows, prisms, hair art, and more! With more than a decade in experience, I can colour match any picture you bring me. I love helping people who have never had vivid colours before to dip their toe in the fun with small peekaboos and then they always come back for more, it’s a lot of fun!

What does success mean to you?
Success to me is when I can happily go to work and not feel like an obligation. I love what I do and I never want to feel like I HAVE to be there. I try and take clients that I know we can create some fun magical hair together, I tend to make it a whole experience that they will never forget and want to come back for more.

Pricing:

  • Fantasy hair starts at $275 and can go up from there depending on hair volume/length.
