Today we’d like to introduce you to Atalanta Moonfire.
Hi Atalanta, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am an eclectic witch, specializing in divination, practicing 25+ years. Always looking to expand my knowledge I am a Reiki Master, Ordained Minister, Spirit Walker, Hoodoo Practitioner, High Priestess of Sacred Moon, Harvard Oracles & Prophesies Graduate, & 1st. Degree Priestess Hekatean Witchcraft. Born in Manassas, Virginia, I grew up moving frequently, which gave me the ability to be flexible and adaptable to change as well as diverse life experiences. At 52 years young, I have been pagan since the age of 14, practicing since I was 18 years old, finding my true path in my 30’s. I have been a model, actress, dancer, paralegal, and judge’s assistant. I have been practicing bone divination for over 12 years and teaching classes for 4 years. One day, right before covid hit, I just woke up and decided to write a book.I had a wonderful support system and a lot of help when it came down to design, editing, and encouragement. I have already started my second book, am working on a children’s pagan series, creating oracle cards, and colaborating on a project regarding my time as a dancer. My goal in life is to expand my spiritual education and help others who share my desire of understanding this magnificent universe in which we live.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Some people looked at it as me taking advantage of indigenous people. Covid hit when I put the book out and that is really where I found my success in the end. Internet was all people had and it turned out to be a way to get name out there. Late late late nights and very long days were a challenge and went on for months in the creation and design. All in all though, it was worth it and now my business has grown out of it.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a spiritual advisor using Bone Divination as my tool. I have been practicing for over 25 years, first with the tarot then the bones (about 12 years ago). I only focus on bone divination now.
I teach classes on how to throw bones and have written a book called “Throwing the Bones, Divination for the Modern Practitioner. I do readings, traveling all over the US with the 15 Oddities and Expos shows and three festivals that I’m signed up for is for this next year. you might want to put in that we ended the year doing 23 appearances. and that the 18 appearances for next year do not include metaphysical stores and such. So far, we have 15 O&C Expos scheduled along with 3 festivals. I also offer my readings and classes, online person, to person through zoom.
What sets me apart is that not only do I love Throwing the Bones, I want it to be as popular and well-known as tarot. I keep my prices small and my kits of good quality.

Any big plans?
I have several books in the making and some other surprizes! My biggest goal is to have my own shop with a museum in five years.
