Check Out Breanna’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Breanna.

Breanna, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my career in hair at 18, attending a small-town cosmetology school on a scholarship. While still in school, I balanced waitressing and taking clients out of my parents’ kitchen—no teachers or instructors, just a lot of trial, error, and determination. I didn’t come from money, but I was fortunate to have supportive parents who encouraged me to keep going.

In those early years, I charged $45 for a full head of foils—not because it was profitable, but because I was focused on gaining experience and mastering my craft. It was truly a “sink or swim” journey, and I was determined to swim.

Thirteen years later, I’ve built a successful career doing what I love. I now own my own hair studio and have a loyal, full clientele. Even after all this time, I still believe there’s always room to grow, learn, and evolve in this ever-changing industry. My goal is to remain teach-able no matter how experienced or seasoned I am in this business!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I wouldn’t have good stories to tell if it were all a smooth road! Haha it’s all about finding where you fit in. What are you good at? What’s your thing? What makes you stick out? I think the tough moments in this career are what helped me figure those things out.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Honestly it took me about 7 years to find my speciality. I know, it sounds like a long time right? I felt like I was “ good “ at lots of things but wasn’t “GREAT” at one particular thing. As stylists we are always changing. Hair trends change and evolve constantly. I think when baby lights and balayage got big, that’s when I found my thing. I realized anything “ blonde “ was my speciality. That’s become what I am known for with my clients and it’s what makes me happiest to do!

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Honestly my favorite childhood memory was playing at my Grandparents house. Their home was always so welcoming. They were a big part of my life and they’re a big part of who I am even though they have passed. I’m sure most people would say going to Disney world or something like that. But for me it was being at their house.
