Hi Lauren, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I first started this journey as a hobby. I wanted to take as many pictures of my daughter as I could. Once I realized how much I loved it, I started learning more about all the technicalities of my camera, editing, etc and it turned into a business.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not. I am way too hard on myself. I want to make sure I deliver perfect photos every time so I tend to forget that “imperfect” photos are just as precious as “perfect” photos.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a lifestyle photographer. I specialize in visual storytelling. I absolutely love to capture the raw emotional moments of your life. I am not the best with words but I can find a moment during your session and capture something magical
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Just put yourself out there. Literally, ask questions about everything. Even if you get a no. I’ve learned a lot on my own, the photography world is a hard one. There are tough critics but once you find someone who wants to see you succeed, then hold onto them
