Check Out Natalia Tureta’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalia Tureta.

Hi Natalia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
After spending 4 years working in the film industry, I took on a barista job during the writers and actors strike to keep myself busy. What started as just a temporary gig, turned into an unexpected deep passion. From pouring my first espresso shot, to learning new recipies, I felt a sense of comfort and belonging in this new environment. Within a year and with hardly any money, I dreamed, planned, manifested, and poured everything I had into creating something of my own. Twin Fins Coffee is my beach-themed coffee cart that I dreamed of having day and night, and thus had finally come to life. I grew up making lifelong memories on the Florida coast and have such a special place in my heart for the ocean and marine life, so I chose to merge my two favorite things. I wanted to bring that oasis, coastal vibe to Atlanta and offer something unique and fun for my hometown. In my first year of operating the cart, I have faced many challenges, but am so grateful for the immense support I have recived from my family, friends, and all the cool new faces we get to serve at our cart!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Strugling is an understatement when it came to starting my cart. the day before my very first farmers market, my grinder wasnt working, we couldnt figure out our hot water heater, and the espresso machine was pouring crazy shots. I still face obsticles nearly every time we open our cart, but I have a great support system that has always helped me problem solve and get through it. “When there’s a will, there’s a way” is something I often repeat to myself when something seems inpossible to solve, and I refuse to let discouragement win.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Getting that LLC letter in the mail was the most proudest moment for me, because it meant that the company that I had been dreaming of was finally coming to life and being recognized. Being a small business is one of the best feelings, because we get to closely connect with customers, and are very focused on ensuring our quality is up to par. Besides the usual barista duties that my brother and I do behind the bar, I am also filming and creating our own content for social media, searching for markets and pop up events to attend to, and making sure we are stocked up and ready for the next event. We love that we can offer something unique like our specialty lattes, a fun environment, and something different than your traditional coffee shop.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Twin fins coffee is not just my business, but its also yours to enjoy. My main goal is to create a fun, laid-back, and welcoming space for people of all ages and backgrounds to enjoy and create memories with.
