Check Out Phillip Blackwell’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Phillip Blackwell.

Hi Phillip, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m from Atlanta GA. I come from humble beginnings. When I was 18 I was sentenced to five years in prison where I had a lot of time to think and reflect on my life. When I was released in 2012 I begin taking music serious and bought my own studio. Now I produce, engineer, and provide a safe space for the youth to express themselves.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Staying motivated is my biggest struggle but I’m making a way.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I create, produce, and engineer. I’m most proud of the effects my music have on people and being a role model for my community. My work ethic sets me apart from others.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Stay humble. The people you meet on the way up will be the same you’ll see coming down.
