Check Out RP Bigwes’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to RP Bigwes.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Wes Walker aka RP BIGWES I was born in Birmingham, Alabama to Hardy & Amy Walker. Growing up most of my childhood consisted of sports specifically Football but I also played basketball & threw in track & field as well. Growing up I was always a pretty outgoing person and would always be the one getting in trouble at school for talking or doing outlandish things, but when I got to high school, I worked hard to stay out of trouble with dreams of making it in Football. I attended Shades Valley High School in Birmingham, Alabama. Although my dream was to play in the NFL, I battled injuries my entire high school career and during my junior year, I found other passions in Business and Fashion.

In high school, me and my friends threw a series of parties our group was known as the Dream Team and when I graduated from High school, I attended the University of Alabama where he would major in Management Information Systems & Marketing.

Also in college, I began to get deeper in the nightlife scene doing club parties, concerts & house parties. During this time, I found a deeper passion in something I always loved: music! I began working with Dj Acoff to build the label Riche Posse which was a promotion team turned record label. I began recording music myself but would always start and stop to help other people build their music careers.

In 2018, I moved to Tampa, Florida to pursue my music dreams and help build Riche Posse even more. We had many ups and downs along the way. I would later move to Las Vegas to focus on music and sports gambling. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, I left Vegas and moved back to FL, moving back and forth between Tampa and Miami for a year before I decided to move to Atlanta to put my full focus on music and be closer to my family in Alabama.

While In Atlanta I’ve been recording a lot of music and working towards my release right now, I haven’t decided a date yet but it will be coming this year. I also dipped and dabbled in acting where I was an extra in HBO’s – “Staircase”, Lifetimes – “Single Black Female” and multiple music videos of artists such as Tee Grizzley, Calboy, Duke Deuce, Smokepurp, TTO K.T. and more.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has not been smooth at all but the road to success is never a smooth one. I read once that “the road to success is paved with struggles, doubts and uncertainties” and I truly believe that to be accurate.

Life isn’t meant to be easy it’s meant to be lived and as humans, we all face adversity and hard times, but as long as you keep a clear vision and learn from your hardships, then a positive come from every situation.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an artist, I make music and I have been working in getting into acting as well as I mentioned earlier! I also like to paint and create physical art when I have the time. I view art in every form as a way to express myself so I show my art through Music, fashion and more.

I am most proud of the work I have put in throughout the years and of the fact I have never givin up on myself, no matter how hard the situations have been. I believe the thing that sets me apart is my belief in Yahweh and knowing he will never guide me in the wrong direction. I know I have the ability to accomplish anything I put my mind to

What’s next?
My plans for the future are to release my own music and grow my brand RP BIGWES along with Riche Posse with my brother DJ Acoff.

I have songs ready to release but I am waiting on the perfect time to release then.
