Today we’d like to introduce you to Alina Land
Hi Alina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My name is Alina and my family escaped Communism from Romania in 1983. We came to the U.S. in California where we had to learn English and start our new life in a foreign land. In 2011 I married my husband, David, who grew up in Conyers, GA. We both came from families who knew what it meant to work hard. In 2021, we purchased a beautiful 28 acre property and home that was left unoccupied for nearly 20 years. Needless to say, there was much work to be done. After a year of renovations, it was finally ready. We decided to rent it our for events and family gatherings. We really enjoy providing a beautiful place where people can gather comfortably. We value time with family and friends, so it brings us joy to allow others the opportunity to do the same.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have been many challenges that have come with starting this venture. Nothing about this property and business venture was simple, but like with any business, we understand there are always challenges. Thankfully, we have been able to conquer those challenges.
We’ve been impressed with The Villa of South Conyers , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are an event space 30 minutes southeast of Atlanta. Our 28 acre property feels like a mountain retreat due to the hills, trees, and stream. We host events of all types up to 150 guests. Being family owned, we take pride in the individualized customer care that we provide, and have brought together an amazing team of vendors for whatever occasion there may be. The venue is mostly known for the quaint rustic barn where we host outdoor events, but we also have indoor space for events and can accommodate 15 overnight guests.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Fortunately, my husband and I don’t shy away from taking risks and working hard. It is a tremendous financial risk that we have taken, but God has provided and we have met many wonderful people along the way.
