Hi De-Mi, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
We started as a creative agency that lived and breathed the arts—supporting painters, performers, musicians, you name it. We threw events, teamed up on collaborations, published magazines, and did whatever we could to put talented creatives in the spotlight. Community was everything to us. To keep the lights on, we offered graphics and web design, making sure every artist we worked with had the tools to chase their dreams. We helped with studio time, art supplies, rides to auditions—whatever it took.
Eventually, the brand grew into a nonprofit, and No Filter. Just Art. became the arm that handled artist management and digital media. Then the pandemic hit. Our whole model was built on in-person events, and suddenly we were competing in an overcrowded digital space we weren’t ready for. The nonprofit couldn’t survive that shift.
When things reopened and life started to feel normal again, our team was scattered—adjusting to a world that had gone fully virtual. We kept working on small projects for longtime clients, people we’d built real relationships with over the years. But then the economy tanked. Some of our team members lost their corporate jobs, and that became the catalyst for reinventing No Filter. Just Art. as a full-on Digital Marketing & Media Agency—still creative at heart, but now marketing-minded.
We’ve been in the digital game since 2012, building websites, designing flyers, managing social media. Over time, we learned how data drives results. So we went back to the drawing board—had countless team meetings, solo brainstorming sessions, all to position ourselves as the go-to resource for businesses trying to thrive online. Our goal? Keep pricing competitive, pack every package with value, map out a clear path to our clients’ goals, and back it all up with real data and proof of success.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Smooth road? Not even close. The biggest challenge has been getting back on the map as a small agency in a space dominated by established players. We’re not trying to cover sky-high overhead or fund fancy team retreats—we genuinely want to build real relationships with our clients and grow alongside them. But when you’re up against agencies that have been in the game for years with budgets big enough to drown out everyone else, you end up doing a lot of passion projects and outreach just to get in front of potential clients. We do have clients now, and we’re grateful for that. But we’re hungry for more work, more challenges, more opportunities to prove what we can do.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
When it comes to finding a mentor, my biggest piece of advice is this: don’t commit right away. “Date” your mentor first. Everyone’s on their own journey, and sometimes what works for them isn’t what’s best for you. They might have great intentions, solid advice, and real value to offer—but if they’re stretched thin or dealing with their own stuff, they might not have the bandwidth to show up for you the way you need. You deserve someone who’s not just knowledgeable, but actually available and invested in helping you reach your goals.
