Hi Tamya, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As a child, I was always told my personality would take me far in life. I was interested in numerous things and I knew with my potential I would do everything I wanted too. I was deeply involved in sports my whole life and planned to take 1 out of the 4 I played seriously someday. Sometime along the way, I found my way back to my true purpose. I’ve wanted to model since I knew what modeling was & I’ve always wanted to own my very own business, not just one. I’ve never limited myself and you shouldn’t either! One of the many things everyone felt my personality would fit was youtube and as for my look, everywhere I went people would tell my mom to put me in modeling. For years I planned to make a youtube channel but never got around to it. My mom & sisters encouraged me always to do so. When I was a junior in high school, I uploaded my first video and the support warmed my heart.
Even though people always pushed me to be consistent, I still never thought I’d get all the love I did. If you know me no matter how small or large the support is, it never goes unnoticed. After I graduated high school, I decided to take it more seriously and start my journey on youtube and etc. I am now a YouTuber (@taamyaa) and made my first investment for myself in Oct. 2022 on a lash course. I own (@renaevisions) which is my first-ever business of individual lash extensions. First of many of course. Moving forward in life I plan to be very successful and take all opportunities that align to me. My true desire is to do and be everything I want. The girl with big dreams, if you will. I want everything I desire out of this life because there’s so much to it. Someday I’ll travel the entire world and my name will be remembered Overseas. I will live up to Tamya the star!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Despite any and all struggles along my journey, I’ve always remained positive. That’s all I know! Life is an interesting journey, a wise statement from tip. To keep myself sane I just hold it down and know that better days are coming. I don’t like dwelling on life’s obstacles. Some were smoother than others. I deal with them accordingly and keep it pushing. I got where I am today, not because life was easy but because I never let anything defeat me.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Renaevisions?
In October of 2022, I paid for a lash course. I used to do my own extensions in high school and knew I could take it seriously at some point. I brainstormed the idea for a long time and one day, while I was at work, I met my lash instructor. She was passing out her business cards and I asked her did she teach people how to lash. I felt like the timing was perfect because I kept saying, “I don’t know where to start.” I was actually her first lash student but I trusted her to teach me. After trusting my intuition, I paid her for the class and started this new journey. I am now a certified lash tech. I love everything natural and authentic, so my lash extensions look more natural than anything. I love getting to know my clients and making them feel as comfortable as possible. What sets me apart from others, in my city at least, is the naturalness of the extensions. I live in a city where most prefer dramatic lash extensions. If you prefer a classier look, I know you would love my work. I do classic, hybrid, & volume sets. I’m most proud of not being afraid to invest in myself. Failure can be scary and keeps us from trying things we want. I say this to say I’m proud of my courage in trying something new.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
My biggest motivation is my mother. She was the first to help me understand what independence was. Growing up, I admired how she handled her business. If she didn’t do anything, she poured into me and my two older sisters. My mom is strong and independent. I’m driven to match her drive. I will make her and myself so proud and give her everything she deserves out of this life she’s worked so hard for.
