Today we’d like to introduce you to Janaisia Davis
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
It started when I was 13/14 and had a passion for content creation & making silly little YouTube videos. I have always wanted to do something in the digital space, however due to fear of what others would think about me or not getting any likes/comments/views stopped me. So for a while I just went about life on and off posting content. When I graduated high school I started getting into social media management & tried to learn more about that & put out informative content. I got into college at Georgia State University and was a journalism major ONLY so I could take the few social media classes they had, and did a marketing minor! Through college I met a friend who connected me to an entrepreneur who had his own social media agency. I started interning with him, and getting that experience creating content for clients & working to build their social media presence. After college I was lucky enough to have been offered a job by him & it was great! But after a while I hit mental burnout and just felt drained from creating, it wasn’t fun anymore for me! So I quit and found another job in the meantime while I figured out what exactly I wanted to do. I came across the UGC (user-generated content) and decided to try it out for a bit, and loved it and the community. BUT I posted a TikTok randomly last year talking about how I would want to do virtual assistance (I’m a girl with many passions haha) and I also stand by putting what you want out into the universe and it will come back to you! Kid you not that day someone commented under it! She is the founder of Sassy Girls ATL, and she was like I was just thinking how I needed a VA and saw your video! Like what crazy!! Now I work for her part time helping put on events for creators and influencers in Atlanta! But once 2025 hit, I felt called to just start posting content on instagram not caring what people thought. So far I have built the most amazing community, everyone is so encouraging in this space. My story is kind of all over the place, and I have a lot of passion and a lot of things I want to learn and try. But the main goal of this year is to pursue my content creation journey and see where it leads!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not a smooth road! I dealt a lot with burnout, and just feeling moments of low, not knowing what I wanted to do. But quitting that job has honestly helped me to get my mental health back on track and find that passion again for content creation! But has always allowed for many amazing opportunities to follow!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
So as of now I’m am working as a part time virtual assistant. I help my boss with emails and daily admin tasks that she can delegate to me, but also event related things & set up. I’m hoping to have more free time during summer to maybe add on another business owner/entrepreneur who might need help in the admin department OR work full time for Sassy Girls! I also dabble in UGC (user-generated content), and I’m looking to get back into that as well! As I’ve mentioned I have a lot of passions; even social media management might come back around for me. But my main goal for this year is to just post my content & build my brand/community!
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love ATL because there is always so much to do!! I’ve lived here for years and still find new places I had no ideas about. It also feels live a version of New York (downtown) but less chaotic. I very much dislike the traffic here.
