Conversations with Victoria Ladd

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Ladd.

Hi Victoria, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Movement has always been my language. Growing up, I could never sit still whether it was gymnastics, cross country, or simply moving for the joy of it, I felt most alive when my body was in motion. After college, I did what many of us are told to do: I got a “big girl job.” But it didn’t take long to realize that the corporate world, with its endless sitting and heavy energy, wasn’t where my spirit thrived. I wasn’t built for fluorescent lights and egos. I was built for freedom, flow, and connection.

After having my second child, I reached a turning point. The long hours and soul-sucking routine no longer fit the life I wanted to live or the example I wanted to set for my kids. So, I took a leap. I left it all behind and poured my energy into what had always made me feel whole: movement. I became that mom who lived at the gym, who couldn’t wait for her next class, and who rediscovered her joy through sweat and stillness.

One day, I decided to go for it and become an instructor. That single decision changed the entire trajectory of my life. I found my voice, my confidence, and my calling. Teaching gave me something the corporate world never could — purpose.

Fast forward ten years, and that purpose has grown into Be Tru Studios, a place where movement meets mindfulness, and where community, laughter, and transformation happen every single day. I’m surrounded by an incredible team and students who inspire me constantly. I still wake up grateful that I get to do what I love; helping others reconnect to their bodies, their breath, and their truest selves.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Oh my, not at all! Owning a business is definitely not for the faint of heart. I juggle a lot of clients, employees, and my own children all depending on me in different ways. There are days when the weight of it all feels heavy, and I catch myself wondering why I pour so much of my heart and soul into something that’s so demanding and never-ending.

There’s always something — a way to improve the business, a client to follow up with, a yoga teacher training student who needs guidance. The to-do list never truly ends. But then I pause and remember why I do it.

I wouldn’t change a thing. I feel like I’m creating ripples, small but powerful, that over time can create real, lasting change. I get to pour my energy into something meaningful every single day. Watching people grow, heal, and reconnect with themselves through movement and mindfulness is the most rewarding part of it all. That’s what keeps me going.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I own and operate a yoga studio that focuses on movement as a pathway to healing. I specialize in helping people find balance and recovery through mindful movement, breathwork, and meditation. What I’m most proud of is the community that has grown around the studio—it’s more than just a place to practice yoga; it’s a space where people connect, support one another, and hold each other accountable. The relationships that have formed between students are incredibly inspiring, and I feel I gain just as much from them as they do from the practice. What sets my studio apart is the personal connection I have with each student. I take the time to really know the people who walk through our doors—their stories, goals, and challenges. My passion for what I do shines through in every class, and that genuine care helps build the trust, belonging, and sense of healing that make our community so special.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
I truly believe that every person who walks through the doors of my studio or attends one of my classes plays a role in my success. Each student, teacher, and friend contributes to the energy and growth of our community. I’m fortunate to have incredible people in my life who cheer me on, mentor me, and celebrate every milestone along the way—their encouragement keeps me grounded and inspired. Their genuine excitement each time something big happens for me or the studio means so much, reminding me that this journey isn’t mine alone but shared with a beautiful circle of people who believe in what I’m creating. Every person we encounter plays a role in our story, and each role—no matter how big or small—is meaningful and unique.
