Daily Inspiration: Meet Joseph Testa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joseph Testa.

Hi Joseph, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My business started right before COVID as a RV Inspector, due to COVID, people were buying RVs and traveling due to other types of travel restrictions.

I expanded from doing RV inspections into RV Repairs.

I also wrote a book: RVing for Newbies, about 190 pages of things a new RVer needs to know to be successful which has expanded into Online Courses and in 2026 will be live courses for people to be able to take.

In beginning of 2025, I retired from IT after 40+ yrs and am doing all of the above now full-time, well really as much as I want to work 🙂

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Mostly smooth took longer than I wanted to become a Master Certified RV Technician due to when classes were offered but I completed that in May of 2025.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I spend most of my time doing RV Inspections and RV Repairs but I also love the education aspect of my business.

I operate my RV Repair business different than most. How?

I do not have a “service fee to just show up”, I charge by 15 minute increments instead of hourly.

Take for example: Someone calls me and tells me that “the batteries are not charging in my RV when plugged in at campground” I will ask they if they are electrically savvy and know how to use a voltmeter. They say “Yes I can do that”, so on the phone I will walk them through testing the electrical outlet they are plugged into, the breakers, fuses and make sure they are all good. If they find a fuse that is blown, I will ask them if they have a replacement, if they do, I will ask them if they are comfortable will replacing, They say “sure”, so we walk through getting it replaced and it fixed it. All is good, they became more knowledgeable about their RV and they owe me nothing.

If at any point they say “No, i just want you to come out and fix it”, then I will go to them and charge them to fix it (as stated above in 15 minute increments), or at least diagnose it and figure out what they need to purchase to make it working again.

I am all about teaching/coaching/mentoring those who want to learn.

What matters most to you?
Customer being happy and getting their money’s worth of my time. This is also a ministry of mine, so there are times when clients need some stuff done and they can’t afford my hourly rate, so I will donate my time to get their stuff fixed.
